04.01.2022 MUSCLE TIGHTNESS Post exercise is normal- you must break a muscle down (through physical activity) to build it back up bigger and stronger (sleep and nutrition) It is okay to exercise through delayed onset muscle soreness, but it may be uncomfortable here are some ways to alleviate it yourself ... To decrease your muscle stiffness you will want to increase blood flow to the area by improving circulation. - Warm up for at least 5 mins before a work out, get your blood flowing to your muscles - Regular movement in between workouts is a good way to keep the body moving and keeping blood flow to all muscles of the body eg light walk or bike ride - Stretching before and after exercises. This includes dynamic or movement based stretching, which uses the myself itself to bring about a stretch - Heat! Using heat will allow blood vessels in the area to dilate, which increases the blood flow to the area - Soak in the bath with Epsom salts to decrease muscle tension and increase blood flow and magnesium stores within muscles
