It can be difficult for people without autism to understand what this feels like. 13.01.2022 Whats it like teaching at My Online Schooling? "Like many of the pupils I teach, my own personal issues made working in a normal school environment too difficult. I joined My Online Schooling because it meant I could carry on doing the job I love without having to face the many challenges that prevented me from doing so previously. Teaching here gives me other challenges, but theyre the enjoyable kind! Ive had to adapt the way I teach, which was difficult to begin with,... but I enjoyed exploring new methods and activities and I feel I have become a better teacher through doing this. I really enjoy the small class sizes it allows a much closer relationship with my students and helps me better adapt my teaching to their individual needs. 11.01.2022 This week is World Autism Week! Every year this week aims to spread awareness and increase acceptance, showing support for those on the autism spectrum. We are very proud to have lots of pupils at My Online Schooling who are on the autism spectrum. To show support for all of our pupils, our office team had hoped to take part in one of the many Walk for Autism events happening across the UK this week. However, as that is no longer possible, we are working on a different challenge instead stay tuned for Friday! Throughout this week we would love to hear your thoughts on autism. Due to the current situation, though, weve had to get creative... Here are some of the Team keeping active at home instead to show our support for our pupils with autism! We understand this may be a particularly challenging time for many of our pupils. While most of us are staying safe and protecting others at home, stayin...g active and getting regular exercise is so so important for our mental wellbeing. 02.01.2022 Calling all My Online Schooling pupils Join us live in the Cartooning Club classroom this Wednesday on the 15th of July at 9am UK / 4pm AWST, for a fun and interactive drawing tutorial, with Rossie Stone, from Dekko Comics! Ever wanted to know how to draw your very own cartoon characters? Rossie, creator of Dekko Comics, will demonstrate how to draw your very own cartoon character. He will then show you how to use them in your learning, to make even the most boring subjects... fun! During the tutorial, you will have the chance to experiment with drawing your very own character, using the techniques Rossie shows you. And since its not every day we get to meet a comic book creator, there will be the chance to ask Rossie some questions during the session! The tutorial will be 1 hour long, and is open to all enrolled pupils, so you do not need to be a member of the Cartooning Club to join. We understand that its a little different this time round, but we hope our pupils are well into holiday-mode now and enjoy some down-time over the Easter break.
