19.01.2022 Hi guys as your all aware Myotherapists are still unable to practice in Metro, we have our fingers crossed that this will change on Monday. Unfortunately we will not be informed until Sunday. Myotherapy Association Australia and its members are all fighting hard to bring you and your Therapists back together so we can continue, the great strides we have made together. Take care and I hope to see you next week... Cheers Sam See more
15.01.2022 REOPENING UPDATE: Unfortunately today's announcement from the Premier regarding Allied Health Professionals currently operating being able to return to face-to-face care, has not been adequately defined for the Myotherapy Industry. Due to this Myotherapy Hub will remain closed until clarification has been obtained from DHHS and relevant ministers as too if Myotherapy is currently permitted, or if we are required to wait until the next step which would be the 1st November. I hope all are well and I will continue to keep you updated. Cheers Sam
13.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Due to the current State Government's ban on non - essential services and the recommendations of my association, Myotherapy Hub will be closing effective immediately. This decision has been made in relation to the current corona pandemic. For clients which have appointments booked, you will be contacted soon.... This is an extremely stressful time for the entire world and hopefully if we as Australian's stick to the social distancing guidelines, we can help to flatten the curve. I wish you all the best. Stay safe. Cheers Sam
13.01.2022 STRETCHING: if only we were like our furbabies
08.01.2022 As most are aware Myotherapy Hub has been closed for several weeks and will remain closed for at least the next 6 weeks, as we, Victorians strive to suppress the Corona Virus. These next 6 weeks maybe difficult for many and I encourage everyone to show a little extra patience with one another and remember we are all in this together. To help reduce the likelihood of episodes of pain and discomfort, I encourage everyone to keep up with their stretches and exercise programs (w...here legally appropriate). During this period of time some may find their stress levels rise, which is understandable. Don’t forget to reach out and ask for help when you need it, as we all need a little extra help from time to time. Some things which help reduce my stress levels are: Exercise Meditation Chatting to family and friends via (Zoom or FaceTime) Starting a Veggie patch And lets not forget chocolate I wish you all the best, stay safe Cheers Sam
08.01.2022 MIGRAINES: FOODS WHICH MAY TRIGGER A MIGRAINE ATTACK! If your a migraine sufferer these are some food which you might consider reducing or avoiding. * Alcohol especially red wine and beer * Aged cheese... * Chocolate * Smoked fish * Marinated meats * Bottled salad dressing * Flavoured popcorn * Food additives - MSG, nitrates, nitrites and artificial sweeteners. * Caffeine (can both be a trigger and a reliever, however there is a fine line between the amount of caffeine that could reduce a migraine and that which can increase it). 03.01.2022 MIGRAINES Migraines can be extremely debilitating for the sufferer. Compared to a headache migraines have other symptoms such as, sensory changes, visual changes or nausea and can last anywhere between 4 and 72 hours. Myotherapy and Remedial Massage can be extremely effective in reducing the number of occurrences of migraines an individual experiences and relieving the pain and discomfort associated with a migraine attach, through a number of techniques such as dry needle therapy, trigger point therapy and joint mobilisation.
