23.01.2022 There’s a lot of reasons why a lot of us are feeling anxious at the moment. I think we can all agree on the main cause. It’s all we can talk about If this is you then these steps can help. Remember that anxiety presents itself in a lot of forms and by keeping your anxiety under control you can avoid it presenting itself in a muscular form.... Look after yourselves xx

22.01.2022 There’s a lot of this going on at the moment with so many people working from home. If this is you right now and are in need of treatment and/or advice I am back at work and taking 30 minutes appointments Tuesday-Friday, and every second Saturday. I can’t promise that I can change you back to a human form but I can help with your pain and desk setup. Call on 98 827 135 or book at myotherapymatters.com.au to book an appointment.... Candice x

21.01.2022 CORONA VIRUS ALERT Please be aware that our patients health is our number one priority. ... We are following the Australian Department of Healths recommendations so we can minimise the risk of spreading corona virus. As is standard protocol, we are continuing to ensure that all team members and patients are thoroughly sanitising all treatment rooms and tables between each patient. As always, towels are changed between each patient, and practitioners wash and sanitise their hands before and after each treatment. We please ask that anyone who is feeling unwell, or anyone who has travelled internationally in the last 14 days please do not attend the clinic. There is hand sanitiser provided at the reception desk and in treatment rooms and we ask for you to please use it before your treatment. Remember to continue to wash your hands regularly, and cough and sneeze into your elbow rather than your hand. Yours in health, Candice

18.01.2022 Hot air balloons were flying low over Hawthorn this morning making it a pleasant commute to work. Last time I saw them this low one landed in a backyard swimming pool. I hope they had better landings today!! Theres something about this picture (and that its Friday) that makes me want wine #hawthorn #myotherapy #health #wellness #myotherapymatters #wellbeinghawthorn #yellowtailwines

12.01.2022 The latest advice from our government is that all health professionals should wear a mask at all times in clinic. They also suggest that anyone who cannot maintain 1.5 metres of distancing should wear one. It is difficult to maintain that distance in a myo session so I strongly advise you wear one to your appointment to reduce the risk for all of us

11.01.2022 Advice to rest and avoid #pain is commonly provided to people with knee and other joint pains - advice that can often cause more harm than good. 07.01.2022 Happy 2019!!! A new year means a new business! Pictured here is Clare and myself (Candice) at our Christmas party a few weeks ago. I have worked (and loved doing it) for Clare for the last 5 years at Unwind Myotherapy in Hawthorn. Clare has now moved her business to North Balwyn while I have begun my new venture of Myotherapy Matters. Same location, same number, same treatment from the same old me! I will miss Clare immensely but am also very excited for whats to come and I look forward to seeing you all in 2019!! #myotherapymatters #wellbeinghawthorn #hawthorn #glenferrie @unwindmyotherapy @myotherapymatters

02.01.2022 I am very sad and sorry to say that the time has come where I have to close the doors. It is such a critical time in this pandemic and it simply isnt safe to be treating anymore. We all need to do out part and keep our hands to ourselves to flatten the curve. Obviously I have no idea when things will get back to normal but once I have a glimmer of hope I will spam you all with emails, social media posts, and probably a phone call. In the meantime I hope those people who are... working from home have their offices well set up. Remember that you wont have access to a myo so you need to do what you can to prevent things from getting rigid. Dont work in bed or on the couch, and remember to take regular breaks for moving and stretching. If you are no longer commuting to work maybe you could still commute by going for a walk around the block. Like youre walking to work. If you get into trouble with any body aches and pains please feel free to email me so that I can at least give you advice. I want business when I return to work but I dont need you all to be complete messes. With all this self isolation there is no excuse to not do stretches and exercises because time is something most of us will have in abundance. Use your foam rollers, spikey balls and heat packs. If anyone needs any fisiocrem, stick on heat packs or posture braces please feel free to email me at [email protected] and I can figure out getting them to you. Thank you to everyone for their well wishes and support over the last few weeks of destruction. I hope you all keep well and stay at home! We have vulnerable people to protect. Much love, Candice

02.01.2022 I regret to inform all of my clients that I will be closed for the duration of stage 4 lockdown. The following is the correspondence from our myotherapy association (MA): It must be noted that unless your client has an NDIS, TAC, Workcover or DVA endorsed care plan, and if their presentation/condition is considered critical, i.e. to maintain functional independence and stay out of hospital, then you are not permitted to treat them face to face at this time.... We understand that these restrictions are far from ideal and will mean that closing your practices for now will be the only option for many Melbourne based therapists. I am so sorry to have to close the doors once again. For many of you we have only just got you back on track after the last lockdown, but I do understand that this sort of action is needed to get the spread of coronavirus under control. If you have any appointments booked in over the next 6 weeks I will be in touch to reschedule for mid September. In the meantime hang in there, do your stretches and exercises, use heat and ice packs, keep mobile, and eat well. Be nice to each other, everyone is struggling. Please dont hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or advice on where to go if you do need help, or self help strategies. I am more than happy to help. Stay safe and well at home, Candice xx

07.12.2021 Here we are again! Myotherapy Matters will be closed until Thursday 18th of February. I will be in touch with anyone who has an appointment to reschedule. I guess this is life now!

28.11.2021 Following the continual disappointment for myotherapy in stage 4 lockdown, a movement has been started to draw awareness to the fact that myotherapists unfortunately are not classified as essential workers (in the eyes of the DHHS) alongside of our Allied Health friends. Myotherapists are hashtagging #myotherapymatters This is a very fortunate thing for me as it’s also my business name so I’m getting lots of hashtags for my business. I must have thought myotherapy mattered a lot when I started my business in Hawthorn nearly two years ago. I’m glad that everyone else has finally cottoned on @myotherapymatters #mm #hawthornmyotherapy #coronavirus #dhhs #danandrews #letuswork
