22.01.2022 How you think of a difficult situation is everything. Instead of seeing yourself as a victim of your circumstances, "why do bad things keep happening to me?" "why cant I catch a break?" "Why do I have the worst luck?" consider your role in your circumstances. What can you control? What can you improve? Take back control of the situation by posing these questions, and figuring out steps you can take to change your circumstances. Reframing and subsequently taking action will make you feel less anxious and will increase your self-confidence.

22.01.2022 We have just received a message from a adult female looking for an apprenticeship in Brisbane. Details below. Contacts us if you would like her to contact you. Hey guys,... I am currently working for a painting company as a contractor and I have been there for 3 months. Previous to that I worked for another company for a year where I worked as a labourer painter. I am interested in gaining an apprenticeship or gaining more experience to become fully qualified. I have my own ABN and equipment and I am confident in my abilities to paint. I would love to know if you have anything in your company/ business that I could take up. Looking forward to hearing from you

05.01.2022 Small business owners constantly battling to get paid on time will be watching the May Budget closely for a sign the Federal Government will act to address this critical cashflow problem. It is estimated that almost half of all small businesses have more than $20,000 in overdue payments, and 60 percent of business owners say the situation is only getting worse. Earlier this year, a Budget submission from peak advocacy group Council of Small Business Australia (COSBOA) called ...Continue reading

02.01.2022 There has been welcomed news today with the announcement by the Federal Government of the $2 billion JobTrainer package, which includes an extension of the vital Supporting Apprentices and Trainees wage subsidy until March 2021. The Supporting Apprentices and Trainees wage subsidy was the first employment assistance package introduced by the Government as COVID-19 first started to impact the nation back in March 2020. It was a well calculated and significant move to provide ...both employers and apprentices with the certainty they needed in those early days of the current pandemic. Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business Michaelia Cash said the JobTrainer package would form a vital part of the national recovery efforts. Our nation has faced many challenges, and it is critical that we keep our apprentices in jobs and help those looking for work, Minister Cash said. Moving early and confirming that apprentices will now be supported beyond the original September timeframe to March 2021 will help to stabilise jobs for current apprentice painters. Another positive outcome of todays announcement by the Morrison Government is the extension of the subsidy to medium-sized businesses with less than 200 employees also giving them greater certainty. The partnership between the Federal Government and the States and Territories announced today, giving more Australians access to free, or low cost, training places in areas of identified skills needs through a $1 billion co-funded JobTrainer fund, has also been well received by industry. Undertaking training may now be a practical option for many people. Whether thats re-skilling or up-skilling, looking at the opportunity to take on a Painting and Decorating apprenticeship now offers a chance for workers to enter new careers and be paid while they learn. While this subsidy will make a real difference to current painting and decorating apprentices , it is vital to the painting and decorating industry that we provide a strong indication to the school leavers of 2020 that moving into a painting and decorating apprenticeship at the end of the year and beyond, is not only a good decision but one that will lead to a rewarding career.
