22.01.2022 The current health crisis has seen photography clubs working hard to maintain continuity of their activities. With traditional meetings and activities curtailed, the focus turns toward online solutions to carry on. Many camera clubs are now using MyPhotoClub, developed by Lake Macquarie photography club member Colin Woods. Servicing over 1000 members from more than 25 clubs, MyPhotoClub has made the management of competitions simpler, enhanced communication and provides ...many engagement activities. MyPhotoClub has announced that due to the restricted financial situation of most camera clubs, the system is available to all camera clubs at no cost until April 2021. The Australian Photographic Society uses MyPhotoClub for most of its competitions. A perfect way to test drive this system is to use it to select your entries for the APS Australian Cup which closes on May 24th. This will enable your members to submit their entries run an internal scoring session and then enter your selected entries without further uploading. A MyPhotoClub site can be used in parallel to a club's existing process to provide additional competitions, critique of images and participate in MyPhotoClub wide activities. To see how it works join the example site at https://example.myphotoclub.com.au/ and use the joining code 226. A series of short how-to videos on this site describe the core aspects of system. To trial MyPhotoClub simply email [email protected] to request a site.

16.01.2022 Many thanks to Michael who spoke to our club last year and returned tonight to show us just how photography can throw a light on problems faced all over the world in obtaining a safe learning environment, adequate nutrition, effective education. The Walking School Bus Project operating in Uganda has certainly started the ball rolling in that country. "Running and gunning" was the theme of Michael's talk as he explained that documenting the project involved full on days, sleepless nights and sometimes unexpected dangers from hostile tribal groups.
