Where do I start.....growing up I was always unsure of what I wanted to do, I ended up working in retail until I was given an opportunity to change that, a risk it was, but a risk worth taking. A decision that is turning out to be one of the best I have ever made. The fact I know Im making a difference to someone and putting a smile on their face reassures me that I am now pursuing the right career. To have a laugh with individuals is truly amazing, no two days are ever the same and how rewarding each day is! The friendships that I get to make and call it work is second to none. I have an aged care background which allows me to be an advocate for the vulnerable people in the community, which I believe will hold me in good stead within the disability area. I love being able to put my skills and life experiences to good use with those that may not be as fortunate as others. The simple fact that I will be able to make a positive difference in someones life is so satisfying. I really look forward to the opportunities and challenges to help people achieve their goals and aspirations with My Plan Connect. I just love being around people and making connections. Favourite things to do- Spending rainy days in bed reading, sewing or anything crafty. Favourite famous person- Not a public famous person but famous within my family, my nanna Hugo. The most loving lady I have known. I hope that I will be able to utilise the things that she taught me and pass them on, in the way that I work with our family at My Plan Connect. What do you enjoy about working in this sector? I have worked with many people all of my life and I really enjoy interacting with a diverse range of personalities and dynamics. I am really excited at the prospect of working within the disability sector and the opportunity to be able to assist and guide people with their aims and goals. Best part, Jodie has capacity and will also be available in Narrandera too. What we love about Jodie's services are that they really align with My Plan Connect - She does it a little different.
