21.01.2022 FURTHER GRAFFITI OFFENCES. The Big Shed and toilets at the Recreation Grounds continues to be a hot spot for recent graffiti. I do not intend to publicise this rubbish by posting photos. Somebody in the community knows whose responsible for these offences and we are keen to hear from you. I’d request everyone to be vigilant with regard to these types of offences. Information can be passed onto your local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

21.01.2022 On Sunday morning the 1st of November 2020 the Moura Police received information regarding the unlawful behaviour of several local youths during the previous evenings Halloween activities. A total of six juveniles were interviewed regarding this behaviour, and all have now been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act. With the cooperation of their parents, these young offenders will be taking action to account for their behaviour and compensate the victims ...of their offences. On the whole Police were very happy with the way that most young people conducted themselves this Halloween and it’s just a shame that a few individuals spoilt this night for others. People are reminded that Facebook is not the preferred method to contact Police. Outside business hours please call Policelink on 131444 or in the case of an emergency 000.

20.01.2022 Theodore Police were lucky enough to be invited along to Theodore State School for the start of Book Week 2020. We haven’t been able to visit for a while due to COVID-19 and it was a great opportunity to introduce our new(ish) officer Senior Constable Sean Kennedy to some of the kids. Everyone did some great reading and enjoyed the stories. Sean only had trouble with a few words, but he tried his best and that's all that counts. #CBCA2020

15.01.2022 Double demerit points in QLD Did you know that double demerit points apply all year round in Queensland not just public holidays? Unlike other states, in Queensland double demerit points are applied to drivers who commit certain offences more than once in a 12month period. ... These offences are; - Speeding above 20km/h over the speed limit - Mobile phone offences - Driver seat belt offences - Motorcycle helmet offences For example; speeding at 21km/h over the speed limit is a 4 demerit point ticket. A second speeding offence over 20km/h in 12months will be an at least an 8 point ticket (more if you're over 30km/h). Which will mean you have accumulated 12 demerit points and a driver licence suspension will likely apply.

03.01.2022 Weapons licences; Your responsibility. - When was the last time you checked the expiry date on your firearms licence? - Have you updated your current address and contact details with the Weapons Licencing Branch (WLB)? - Do you know your storage requirements after your licence has expired?... - Did you know that you will need to complete a whole new application if you miss your renewal date? The weapons storage capacity at our local stations is currently exhausted. If you allow your weapons licence to expire and they need to be kept in safekeeping while you wait for a new licence they will be taken to a licensed dealer for storage. Storage fees will be at your expense and can be between $20-25 per gun/per month. That will quickly eclipse the value of many guns out there. We are seeing far too many weapons licences expiring through poor management of contact details and not prioritising renewals. For many people on properties your weapons are part of your necessary work equipment and if your licence is expired you are not authorised to possess them. If your licence expires you must have them kept with a suitably licensed person for a period of three (3) months and after that they must be stored with either a licensed dealer or a police station. Updating your contact details and many WLB forms are easy to complete online with Weapons Licencing.
