20.01.2022 APRA updated their summary of loan deferrals today, based on data to the end of August 2020. The update shows the number of borrowers exiting a deferral arrangement outpaced new entries for the second month in a row, the the overall value of deferred housing loans reducing from a recent peak of $195 billion (or 11% of all housing loans) in June to $160 billion (or 9% of all housing loans) in August. APRA notes the majority of borrowers exiting a loan deferral have returned... to a 'performing status' - ie they have gone back to making repayments on their loan. Although the proportion of home loans on a deferral basis remains high at 9% of all housing loans, its encouraging to see more borrowers going back into repayment schedule and taking advantage of super low interest rates to pay down their debt or at least their interest payments. Most borrowers and lenders would have been moving through their six month check-in period during September... so there is a strong chance the next update will show a more substantial reduction.

18.01.2022 This client was referred by a past client. A single mother who had been searching for 7months with very little luck. Her brief was detailed. She knew exactly what she wanted. Now it was all up to me. This property was the first property I inspected, and immediately knew it was the one for my client because it had everything she wanted with the bonus of having the option to modify certain finishes to her liking.... Appointed on a Friday, property found the following Tuesday, and signed on Thursday below her budget, and way over her what she expected to receive. 4 weeks till she gets the keys to her new house. I'm so happy for her!!
