25.01.2022 We are looking for several disability support workers to perform support at My Puzzle House, in clients homes, and in the community. We require people who have had experience working with people with disabilities, and it would be a great asset if you have had experience working with children who have disabilities. Working with children check and police check are essential. All applications must be emailed to [email protected] with your resume and cover letter or they will not be reviewed.

Families can have relatives or a friend come to their home to assist with the care of a child with disability. This includes travelling more than 5km and during the curfew. (This is under Leaving premises for care and other compassionate reasons - Version 9) 2. Families can take a child with complex behaviour support needs for a drive to escape harm, including harm to themselves. This includes travelling more than 5km and during the curfew. They need to carry evidence of their child’s behaviour support needs. (This is under Leaving premises for care and other compassionate reasons - Version 9) 3. Support Workers can provide in-home support, including assisting with learning from home. The NDIS have produced a guide for school aged participants in Victoria. 4. Families with children with disability who are experiencing severe stress can apply to attend school see attached attendance form. 5. Families with children with disability who are experiencing vulnerability, which may include students eligible for KISS or Commonwealth Inclusion Support, can apply to attend their early childhood service see attached attendance form. 20.01.2022 Something I would have never thought to be so amazing is these fluffy hair ties which we sell in our store...Rayne loves wearing it on his wrist (and it’s not tight). He absolutely loves it and now has a sensory outlet right there whenever he needs it.

14.01.2022 We have discovered a new place that supports children with disabilities! We have not yet had the pleasure of going there ourselves but have referred some of our clients there who have given us some amazing feedback. Armytage Children’s Retreat are family owned and operated (which we love), and located in Officer. ... From what we have heard they have a range of overnight camps, with fun activities, a play ground, and farm animals. Day programs are not available at the moment but they are hoping to have them available within the next couple of months. Like us, they are supporting children with disabilities and THEY ARE OPEN through stage 4 restrictions! It looks like booking is via phone, or can be contacted through Facebook or email. 05.01.2022 During the COVID-19 crisis Stage 4 in Victoria, My Puzzle House is providing an essential support service to people with disabilities who are NDIS participants. Following the Victorian Government guidelines, My Puzzle House is classed under the Health Care and Social Assistance Sector as a Community based service which is required to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people. This means that My Puzzle House will be running the same as it has been through ...the previous stage. We can provide families with a letter which you can present to law enforcement should you be asked where you are going. Parents and carers are required to wear masks throughout the session unless exempt. Private Hire for NDIS Participants $65 for 1 hour $100 for 2 hours Family living under the same roof and support worker/s are welcome To make a booking, please call for availability on (03) 5611 0404 What are we doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19? We are wearing masks, shields and gloves. We have a COVID-safe plan We have completed infectious control COVID-19 training We leave 15 minutes between sessions for cleaning which includes sanitising all equipment & high touch areas. We do a thorough clean once a day which includes sanitising all equipment, low and high touch areas, and mopping. Food and drinks provided as takeaway with disposable plates, bowls and cups. We are following all guidelines as per the DHHS directives. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing families for doing the right thing when they visit My Puzzle House, and we look forward to the day when we can invite all of our other fantastic families back for a play.

02.01.2022 FREE SESSION FOR MUM’S & BUB’s. Covid has had a huge impact on our whole community, but one thing we’ve noticed is that our new mum’s and their bub’s have had it extra tough. We are offering mums and their bub’s (under 2 years old) a free session at My Puzzle House to explore, and socialise with other mums and bub’s. ... Session: Friday 20/11/2020 at 1-3pm. Comment ‘yes please’ with the age of your child/children if you would like to come along. As we have a limit of 20 people in our facility, we have to monitor the numbers. If there is lots of interest we may run another free session the following week for those who missed out. Please share with your friends with bub’s who might need this!
