24.01.2022 COMMUNITY NOTICE A reminder that the Food Pantry is now operating Mon-Fri from 12pm to 4pm. The Addi Road Food Pantry is a low cost, food rescue grocery shop that rescues fruit, vegetables, bread and other quality food from being thrown into landfill and passes it on at highly affordable rates to the community.

18.01.2022 Since 2019, Newtown Neighbourhood Centre has been co-facilitating a Youth Smart Recovery (Self-Management and Recovery Training) with Marrickville Youth Resource Centre. The free group addiction program is normally conducted face-to-face and assists anyone with any problematic behaviours, ranging from moderate to significant in scale, tackling addictions such as drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, food, shopping and even screens. Since the sessions moved online in March, th...e group has grown substantially and our reach has now extended beyond the Inner West and the group now includes a member from Coffs Harbour and several from Victoria! 02.01.2022 During the school holidays, the youth community joined Tom from MYRC, and Youssef from Barandos Australia, to create a mural tag at our Centre. The learnt the art creating street art with fluorescent coloured spray paints, developing an eye for precision and colour whilst having a chat and getting to know each other. The highlights of the day were witnessing the youth interact and explore their creative sides, and of course, pizza for lunch.
