They are going to introduce a national licensing system without any directions or discussions and limited input from industry. And they wonder why there is little respect for their decisions!

13.01.2022 New condition report for residential tenancies notified by NSW OFT on Friday - that as of Saturday last (01/03/14) you MUST use the new version of the Condition Report for leased properties..... The new report includes the addition of window safety devices wherever windows/screens appears. The new version of the report can be downloaded from Fair Trading's website in the residential tenancy forms section. ... Each year, around 50 children fall from windows or balconies in Australia. Many suffer serious injuries and sometimes these falls are fatal. The changes to the condition report for residential tenancies is one of a number of measures the NSW Government has developed to help prevent the incidence of falls. Further information about window safety and these new safety measures is available from Fair Tradings window and balcony safety page.

Bureaucratic double-speak to give "certainty to businesses, industry & government"! 11.01.2022 Extract from a letter from NSW Fair Trading (if you wanted a misnomer for a departmental name, this is a good one!): "You may be aware that [a new national licence system] for property occupations was originally intended to commence in July 2012. However, due to delays in the legislation drafting process this date will not be met and a new start date in 2013 is under consideration of the Council of Australian Governments. I understand that the Commonweal Taskforce overseeing ...the project is hoping to release the draft regulations for public consultation around the middle of the year (comment: these would be the same drafts due for release in July 2011). At that time, all industry stakeholders will be able to review the proposed system, the types of licences, expected qualifications and the areas of regulated work, and how they will each be affected. The Taskforce will undertake a roadshow to explain the reforms in detail and an opportunity to make further comment will be provided. In addition to the consultation process a website where you can find updates on the progress of the project has now been established and can be found at www.nola.qov.au." (comment: this website has been established for 18 months, and is still saying it wil be implemented on 1 July, 2012). Idiots!!!!!!!!!!
