17.01.2022 This is awesome news for WA mountain biking, get around it people #mtbwa #wamtb #mountainbike #mtblife Posted @withrepost @west_cycle **Breaking Mountain Bike News** In 2016 the Perth and Peel Masterplan identified Dwellingup as having the potential to become a trail town of National Significance and was listed as a high priority for development, which would result in 80km of purpose built mountain bike trail. ... It has just been announced that through a Federal, State and Local Government partnership Dwellingup will receive $8.4 million and become WA’s first true Trail Town. Funding for a range of trails as well as infrastructure to support them. This result is testament to the collaboration that has taken place between Government and the community and hopefully it is evidence that the planned and sustained approach is one that leads to significant outcomes. A huge amount of work has taken place by the Shire of Murray and DBCA (Parks and Wildlife) to make this dream a reality. The State Government committing close to $5million of funding and the Federal Government $3.5 million. A big thank you to the people that have spent countless hours to get this result for the riding community. Not only will this give Western Australian’s a new and significant mountain bike destination it will strengthen the local economy and create jobs in the region off the back of the tourism this will create.
