19.01.2022 So here we are honing our micro mosaic skills for the week in Falls Creek as Artists in Residence. After a day in the studio a relaxing walk is just the go. Thanks so much to Falls Creek Alpine Resort for this great opportunity.
19.01.2022 After lots of planning, consultation, and a steep learning curve, it's happening! The first squares of the 100 tiles on the large "Snakes and Ladders Game' have been started. We are very grateful that this project is being supported by the Into Our Hands Foundation, Myrtleford Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc and the Alpine Shire Council. It should keep us Crackpots busy over the winter months when it is too cold to glue and grout on the trail. Watch this space for updates, and other exciting news coming soon....

16.01.2022 From little things, big things grow. Big Mosaic Tree Project on Great Alpine Road Wall This project will bring to life a large scale mosaic work on a prominent building in town, with the theme Love the Life. A multi-stemmed river red gum tree will be embedded with images of what our community loves about their town and surrounds, and create another addition to the Myrtleford Mosaic Trail https://www.myrtlefordmosaictrail.com.au... Now we need your help! The Two Crackpots are commencing the design phase of the overall work and would like to ask you, the Myrtleford community, what do you love about your town? We welcome any comments, or you might like to draw your answer. All contributions and ideas will be carefully considered as part of putting together the big tree design, although may not all get directly represented. Send us your thoughts on Facebook, via our website, or drop snail mail/drawings into the mosaic donations box just inside the door at Belmores 1/7 Albert St, Myrtleford VIC 3737. This project, auspiced by the Myrtleford Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc, has received funding from The Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, through Regional Arts Australia, administered in Victoria by Regional Arts Victoria. Please feel free to share this page to any Myrtleford organization pages - we would love to hear their thoughts!

13.01.2022 We are so appreciative of everyone who is donating tiles and crockery to the trail. From a treasured broken platter, to tiles taken off a shop front renovation they will hopefully find a new home in a piece of artwork. See below... As some of you may know we are excited to be starting a larger ‘Snakes and Ladders’ project, thanks to the support of Into Our Hands Foundation and Myrtleford Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc, and will be looking out for any suitable bright retro tiles if you have any laying around. Thanks everyone for the support - it inspires us everyday PS Donations can be left in our labelled box inside the door at Belmores Accounting, Albert Street, Myrtleford or send us a message to arrange collection. Thanks

08.01.2022 TWO CRACKPOTS FUNDED TO GET CREATIVE | Mysterious Myrtleford artists, Two Crackpots, are recipients of the first round of the Victorian Government’s Creative Re...covery program. Two Crackpots are Myrtleford’s generously adventurous artists, who gifted the Myrtleford Mosaic Trail to all who visit this special part of our region. Their share of the funding will go towards a mural. The program funds projects that contribute creatively to the social and economic recovery in bushfire-affected regions. The Creative Recovery initiative is part of the Victorian and Commonwealth Government's $86 million Community Recovery Package for bushfire-affected communities announced in January. It is being delivered by Regional Arts Victoria in partnership with Bushfire Recovery Victoria, Regional Development Victoria, and Creative Victoria. For full program details, visit rav.net.au.

06.01.2022 It's wonderful to get some opinions of our younger community members on the 'Love the Life, Big Tree' project. Such wisdom about the simple things that make life great. A huge thanks to local kindergarten teacher Jane Murray for facilitating this. Here's a few for you to enjoy. Feel free to ask your younger family members what they love about Myrtleford and add to the comments here...
05.01.2022 Meet Sir Hiss! While things on the trail are quiet, lots of mosaicking is happening in the shed studio. Square 30 is now complete...only 70 to go. Should keep us out of mischief during this second stage 3 lockdown. Stay safe everyone
04.01.2022 The next major project by the 2 Crackpots is a "Big' a large wall mosaic. This project will bring to life a large scale mosaic work on a prominent building in t...own, with the theme Love the Life. A multi-stemmed river red gum tree will be embedded with images of what our community loves about their town and surrounds, and create another addition to the Myrtleford Mosaic Trail After months of searching and talking with various building owners we happy to put forward our preferred location for the placement of the mosaic is within Jubilee Park - Set back against the BBQ area, this location lends itself to the mosaic taking on windows in the design rather than a complete solid rectangular shape. It is prominent enough, yet not a distraction for drivers along the Great Alpine Road to see. Complimenting the 'Snakes and Ladders' game which will be launched officially in January - Jubilee Park is in the centre of town and will encourage visitors to stop within the CBD area and close to our shops. An alternative location could be Memorial Hall Your feedback is welcome on the choice of location. Please email: [email protected] before the 11th January 2021. See more
03.01.2022 A big shout out to Myrtleford & District Landcare & Sustainability Group for a great working bee on the weekend clearing on the river trail. While the snakes will still be around, it is much easier to see things....including this piece that I had forgotten was there If you want to join the lovely folks at Landcare, caring for our surroundings, I’m sure you will be made very welcome
