25.01.2022 How great was it to be back in the water this week?! Thanks to all our swimmers and families for adhering to our density limits and their consciousness of our COVID-safe protocols. Legends!

24.01.2022 The link for Thursday night’s zoom presentation night has just been emailed out to members. If you didn’t receive it and would like to tune in, please contact us via email or Facebook message. Extended families & friends are also welcome!

23.01.2022 WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE??! It’s our new Myrtleford Swim Club Shelter!! With generous contributions from the Alpine Shire community grants program, the Bright Community Bank Branch, and some amazing voluntary work from our members, we are so excited to be building our own home base at the Myrtleford Pool!... The Shelter will provide our swimmers and families with much needed shade, space to store our belongings, and a place to call our own. The concrete will be poured this week and the shelter kit assembly will follow. Watch this space!

23.01.2022 SEASON 2020/21 INFORMATION! - Our season will officially commence on Monday 16th November. Training nights will be Mondays & Fridays, 5:30pm-7pm. - Our tadpole group (typically those aged under 10, but ultimately determined by coaches) will swim from 5:30pm-6pm. We ask that only one parent accompany their child/children, and no siblings over 12 months old who aren’t swim club members. Tadpoles should be able to swim a minimum of 25m freestyle unassisted. More information on ...readiness for tadpoles will be posted on Tuesday. - Our intermediate and senior squads will train from 6pm to 7pm. As these swimmers are typically aged over 10, we encourage parents & guardians to drop their children at the gate and not enter the pool complex. In these current times, we have to adhere by strict number limits. - We encourage swimmers to bring their own flippers & kickboards if able, however a limited stock of equipment will be available to hire for the season. First in, first served. - Club fees are $40 per swimmer, capped at $100 per family. Coaching fees are $95 per swimmer for the season. Swim Vic fees are $96 for swimmers aged 8& under (as of Oct 1st 2020), and $108 for swimmers aged 9& over. Registration is done via Swim Vic’s Swim Central portal and all fees are payable online. Please email [email protected] for instructions on how to set up a new registration on Swim Central. - There will be no Southern Division pennants for the remainder of 2020. At this stage it is unclear what 2021 will bring. All registered swimmers with the Myrtleford Swim Club are eligible to compete in the Ovens & Murray Central Division Pennants though, and their event timetable can be accessed at www.oandmdistrictswimming.org.au Please note, swimmers will need to compete in at least one event in at least one pennant to qualify for Ovens & Murray Championships in February 2021. - Swim Vic’s guidelines state get in, train, get out. No change facilities will be available at the pool. Toilets can be accessed if needed. We ask swimmers to come dressed ready for training, and have your hot shower afterwards at home. - Our club’s COVID safe plan is available on request by emailing [email protected] - This season will start off a little different as we work with the the ever-evolving landscape of COVID restrictions. However we’re so excited to get back in the pool and we can’t wait to welcome new & returning members into the water! See more

21.01.2022 Just a reminder to both new & returning swimmers... You must be a registered swimmer with the Myrtleford Swim Club before training on Monday 30th November. Unfortunately you will not be allowed to swim after this date until you have signed up. Registrations are all done through the Swim Central website https://www.swimming.org.au/swim-1/swim-central Please email [email protected] if you need any assistance; it can be a little tricky to navigate.

21.01.2022 Thank-you to Ardern's Caravan Park & Ovens Valley Physio & Pilates for their sponsorship of our hoodies this season! Orders can now be made by commenting on the post below or by emailing [email protected] A sizing chart is attached. The cost of the hoodies will be $60.

20.01.2022 The warm weather must have people thinking about swimming, as we’re fielding quite a few queries about swimming club for the upcoming summer. Keep an eye on this page as we will provide updates as soon as we can on pool opening dates, and how our swim club will proceed under current restrictions. We can’t wait to welcome new & returning members back to the pool!

20.01.2022 We regret to announce that registrations for swim club have now closed for the season. This is a season like no other, and with our current numbers, lane availability and the ever-changing COVID landscape we are now at capacity. Keep swimming, keep active, and hopefully we will see you all next season!

18.01.2022 With the Bright Swim Centre still closed, our swimmers haven’t been able to start any pre-season training as yet. Perhaps this is a good option for those missing their swimming?!

18.01.2022 No registration...... No swim. Remember that swimmers must be registered with Swimming Victoria and the Myrtleford Swim Club BEFORE training tomorrow. This is for insurance & liability requirements; please don’t make us turn you around at the gate . If you are having any difficulties with the Swim Central registration process please email [email protected]... **If you are coming along for your first night as a trial then exceptions apply. Please speak to a club committee member at the pool.

17.01.2022 Well done to all of our swimmers who continue to train and compete, even after our local pool closes for the cooler months. No easy feat to keep up the intensity. #smallclubs #bighearts #gomyrtleford

16.01.2022 Registrations are now open for the 6th Ovens & Murray Central division pennant, held in Yarrawonga on January 31st. Swimmers can enter up to 4 individual events and entries are free and done via your Swim Central account. Don’t forget parents need to also register for a spectator ticket, this can also be done via Swim Central. Any questions? Message our page or email [email protected]

15.01.2022 Good luck to Milla Corcoran and Isabella Colson who are both representing the Hume Region at the Victorian Primary School State Swimming Championships tomorrow in Melbourne. Good luck girls, enjoy the experience!

14.01.2022 Training resumes this week, Friday 8th January. Please note the slight changes to training times, this is due to increased pool availability to the public as COVID restrictions have eased... Tadpoles: 5pm-5:30pm Intermediates: 5:30pm-6:10pm Seniors: 6:10pm-7pm... Tadpoles will continue to train Monday & Friday. Our intermediate and senior swimmers will also have a Wednesday session each week, starting January 13th. More details on the Wednesday session are to come. See you all Friday!

13.01.2022 The age champions from the O&M Championships have just been published on the O&M Swimming website. Well done to Arabella Chapman who is the 8&U age champion!! Arabella won gold medals in the 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly, and finished 6th in the 50m freestyle, earning a total of 9 championship points and crowning her age champion!! Another accolade in a great season, well done Arabella!

13.01.2022 Who is ready to get back into it?? Our season starts tomorrow, Monday 16th November with training at the Myrtleford Pool. It’s been a long time between swims, and the first few weeks of training will just be about getting back in the water. Our coaches have asked that all returning swimmers please come to the group you were in last year. If you were a tadpole, please arrive at 5:30pm. If you were a member of the inter/senior squad please arrive at 6pm. There may be movement between groups over the next few weeks, but first of all let’s just enjoy getting back into the water!

12.01.2022 Wondering if your child may be ready to be a tadpole this swim season? Typically, tadpoles are aged between 6 & 9 years old, and should be able to swim a minimum of 25m freestyle unassisted. With training commencing at the outdoor pool on Monday 16th November we are running ‘tadpole trial’ nights during the first week of training. These will take place at 5:30pm on Monday 16th & Friday 20th. These nights allow our coaches to determine the best course of action for your chil...d’s swimming development- that is, joining swim club or continuing with lessons for another year. Swimming Club is not the same as swimming lessons, and in some cases children will benefit from the smaller group sizes and focused skill development in a learn to swim environment. Please remember that due to COVID safe guidelines, only one parent can accompany their child to the tadpole trial night and no siblings aged over 12 months who aren’t trying out. Feel free to email [email protected] with any questions you might have. Otherwise, see you at the pool next week!!

12.01.2022 SHELTER PROGRESS SHOT!! The roof is on....... slab to be poured next week! How fantastic does it look?!!

09.01.2022 Good luck to Helen & Daisy Howell and Emma Pasqualotto, who are swimming in Wangaratta today at the 5th Central Division Pennant. The first competition in the new Wangaratta 50m pool! We hope you all have fun (& maybe swim a few PB’s as well!).

07.01.2022 Early bird passes available from Monday 2nd November! We are still awaiting confirmation on what our training schedule will look like this season with respect to permitted numbers per lane/in the pool. We WILL DEFINITELY be back in the water though so make sure you take advantage of the early bird passes!

06.01.2022 Whilst we are still awaiting news on when our season can commence in the Myrtleford Pool, our members are invited to compete in this season’s Ovens & Murray Central Division pennants. The schedule can be found at www.oandmdistrictswimming.org.au (see the post below) and entries are the responsibility of the individual swimmers/families. A great opportunity to get the swim season started!! **Please note, you will need to be a paid member in the Swim Central database to be permitted to swim.

04.01.2022 Last week was National Volunteers week so it seems only fitting to give one more shout out to the tremendous team of volunteers who made our new shelter possible! Pictured (from left to right) are Michael Sacco, Josh Harris, Rob Dark, Steve Dark, Tony Cuskelly, Frank Sacco, Tim Menz and Angelo Sacco. Missing from the photo, Barry Bodsworth, Peter Cartwright and Kris Sabljo. Thank-you everyone! This new shelter will provide our swimmers with a home base and give much needed shade in the hot summer months.

01.01.2022 Two excited faces to back in the pool today!! Lachy & Jack Thomson are competing today at the Albury pennant over in North Albury. Mum says they’ve managed to get a little bit of training in, in the last couple of weeks, so hopefully the 50m pool isn’t too much of a shock!! We wish you both good luck... So nice to see some sort of season beginning. Fingers crossed it won’t be long & we’ll be back at our pennants soon!!!

01.01.2022 Good luck to Lily Cuskelly, Jack Thomson & Lachlan Thomson who are all off to the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre tomorrow to represent the Hume Region in the Secondary School State Swimming Championships. Good luck, swim well, and enjoy the experience!
