24.01.2022 I absolutely adore the designers of classics and the elegant and trust me when I tell you my fabric collection continues to be ever increasing .....And for those who know me, you would also know I love the not so classics as well So I thought I would share one of my not so classics, as it is my not so classics that I usually dont share on my page. They are when I indulge in pure play time This shade is sitting on a 50cm tall lamp base and is about 32cms in height. 22.01.2022 We are surrounded by amazing lyrebirds here at Bellbird, and so its always such a joy to work with this fabric. Interestingly it was these lovely birds that introduced me to this fabulous regional designer. Googling for lyrebird fabric and narrowing down the search and voila. Little did I realise at that time, that this search was going to fuel yet another fabric obsession Theis latest pair of lyrebirds are flying to their new home in Lakes entrance to be at their B&B home keeping company with the lyrebirds that reside there. 14.01.2022 A little peek at part of this fabulous collection that will be staying on the Sapphire Coast. One of the things I love about sitting with clients in my little shadey loft is the process of choosing. This lady has been a delight and her original wish list evolved during our get together. I cant wait to see them on her bases and love that they will be at home in our beautiful region, which only months ago was so ravaged by the bushfires. 11.01.2022 She sells sea shells tra la la la la. The detail on this fabric really does have to be seen to be believed, and when its lit it takes on an almost 3 dimensional look. Its headed off to its forever home, to live by the sea in all its glorious colours. 09.01.2022 Lend me your ears and Ill tell you the tale that I gave you sneak news of some time back. Over recent months Ive had the pleasure of bringing a very special vision to a reality with the help of a very talented designer. As you now probably know, Ive had 2 countries that have been home for me, Africa and Australia. I wanted a range of shades that captured my feeling of belonging to these 2 countries and having spent most of my Australian time in Canberra before moving to... Bermagui, I wanted a Canberra connection as well. So, enter Tamara Ive learnt much working with her, tweaking colours and design, and Im so thrilled that we have been able to bring this vision alive. So this collection is very personal to me. And yes you guessed it the big cats and the possums I gave you sneak peeks of are also part of this collection. My Shadey Love has a total of 6 different designs in this collection. I so hope you will enjoy them as much as I do. With a year that has had so many challenges, your support has meant so much to me and being able to pull together this collection for you, just feels as it should be. Shades from the collection have already begun going to their new homes. All designs are available in a range of different shapes and sizes. 09.01.2022 The perfect fabric textureMy lovely client is a weaver, so texture was important in doing justice to a family heirloom lamp base that she had. I dont have a pic of her lamp but it was the perfect partner.This has headed off to its new home and will be happily surrounded by glass and beautiful art works . Our lovely Victorian textiles designer @femketextiles might be out of action for a little while due to COVID restrictions, but her fabrics are continuing to make their way to new homes. 07.01.2022 My Shadey Love With a name like that there is lots of fun to be had. So my Shadey stripper (aka hubby) was put to work stripping frames. Sometimes revamps are from old shades sometimes not so old. This lovely client had a couple of shades that were not very old so we were able to re-use her US fittings frames.These gorgeous cheery empire shades measure in at a height of 26cm and 32/35 diameter.
