20.01.2022 Close to 3600 Mary River Cod fingerlings were released Tuesday as part of a native restocking initiative to enhance and maintain the native fish population, provide mosquito control and assist threatened fish species to recover. The purchase of the fingerlings has been made possible through close to $1000 in proceeds from attendee ticket, barbecue and bait sales from the November 2019 Springfield Lakes Pest Fishing Classic, which was ...led by 2 Bent Rods, as well as in-kind contributions from the Mary River Catchment Coordinating Committee and Lendlease. Brisbane Valley Anglers Fishstocking Association (BVA) were joined by Councillor Nicole Jonic - Ipswich Division 2 and Cr Russell Milligan to help release the fingerlings into the lake.
