He may have seemed 'gruff' at times, but during long hours at the 'shed', Lyle was always ready to share a story, offer advice or assistance. 17.01.2022 As I rinsed the dust from my reluctant to stand self this morning, I was reflecting on how amazing it is to be able to achieve the things we do with lighting. Last night, in front of almost 9,000 we lit Ballarats carols and we lit it well. Yes we kept it simple, yes well do some things differently next time but it all worked. This event stands confidently alongside Jekyll and Hyde, Beauty and the Beast and A Day With Disney, showing what our dedicated gang achieves with humour, a willingness to dive in and learn, all with audiences applause as the main recompense. On every event, I ask too much of you all, yet you keep coming back. For this I thank each and everyone of you. Matthew.

02.01.2022 PERFORMER ANNOUNCEMENT Were getting closer and closer to Carols on Sunday, but we still have performers to introduce to you - including the fantastic Ste...phen Armati! Stephen is a regular on & off Ballarat stages since moving here from Albury/Wodonga in 2012. His on stage theatre credits are Amos (Chicago) & Engineer (Miss Saigon) with BLOC Music Theatre, Dennis (Rock of Ages) & Old Deuteronomy (Cats) with Ballarat Lyric Theatre & Jean Valjean (Les Miserables) with AMCS. In recent years, Stephen has directed the local productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, Jekyll & Hyde is presently in rehearsals, directing Ballarat Lyric Theatres 2020 production of Les Miserables. Other theatre credits include Grease, Pirate King (Pirates of Penzance), Beast (Beauty & the Beast) Chris (Miss Saigon) winning the Zonta Award for Best Lead male in a Musical. He also worked professionally in Strange Bedfellows A New Musical. A featured soloist in both Albury & Wodongas Carols by Candlelight for several years, he is thrilled to be part of this exciting new Carols event in Ballarat, performing one of his favourite songs, with one of his favourite performers, Bronte Wright.
