25.01.2022 This week is #NationalRecyclingWeek. We often take it for granted, but recycling is a core part of our lives. Not just in undertaking recycling as a form of waste disposal, but also as a way of claiming materials for use in products. At TOMRA, we believe waste is a resource. Check out this video of how recycling through a container deposit system can lead to Clean Loop Recycling - where bottles are turned back into bottles and cans back into cans.

24.01.2022 Getting excited for the launch of @4changewa at Yagan Square. 10,000 drink containers are used every 4 minutes in WA, as displayed by this 5m tall Black Swan. 12 days to go until Western Australians can cash in their containers for 10c to reduce the 44% of bottles and cans littered in the State. #CFCswan #4changewa #containersforchangewa #containerdepositscheme #CDS #Recycling #tomra @tomracollection

22.01.2022 Each one of our 3 charity partners - Beyond Blue, OzHarvest The Salvation Army Australia - has witnessed the demand for their services increase, in some cases up to 60% greater than normal. At the same time, they've seen a significant decline in fundraising activity that is essential to the funding of their work. So we're very proud to launch our #BottlesCANChangeLives recycling appeal and to be able to support the not-for-profit sector in this challenging time. Our goal o...f raising $1 Million is audacious and we encourage everyone - whether you have used the scheme before or not - to collect your used bottles and cans and donate to help family and individuals in our community doing it tough during COVID-19. Every eligible bottle or can donated through any TOMRA reverse vending machine across NSW (Return and Earn), QLD (Containers for Change QLD), and NT, raises 10c for one of the 3 charities you select on the screen. Visit bottlescanchangelives.org.au to locate your nearest recycling point. #ReturnandEarn #ContainersForChange #Charity #Environment

19.01.2022 #NationalRecyclingWeek - We mostly know of recycling as bottles being turned back into bottles and cans back into cans. But there are other innovative ways we've seen recycling used: Lids for Kids - Bottle lids being turned into prosthetics for kids with disabilities Sustainable Salons - collecting hair to be used to soak up ocean oil spills Dresden Vision - using plastic to make glasses frames... Each of these organisations is using innovative ways to turn items that would otherwise be thrown away, into something that can benefit others. We recommend checking them out, and how they contribute to the circular economy.

19.01.2022 COVID-19 has brought untold hardship to millions of Australians. Some Aussies are struggling to put food on the table. Others are in need of a hand to pay their rent or their bills. Some are experiencing depression and anxiety. But together we can help Aussies doing it tough. Today we're proud to launch our #BottlesCanChangeLives Recycling Appeal. Every eligible bottle or can donated through any TOMRA reverse vending machine across NSW (Return and Earn), QLD (Containers for... Change QLD), and NT, raises 10c for either OzHarvest, Beyond Blue, or The Salvation Army Australia. Our goal is to raise $1 Million for people in need - if every recycler donates 1 in 20 containers, we can achieve that target. 19.01.2022 Today is World #WalkToWork day. Walking is a great way to reduce your emissions and get some exercise, but it's also a great way to collect containers. If you see a container abandoned on the footpath, pick it up and bring it to a return point near you, to give it new life.

18.01.2022 Our Recycling Centres are so family friendly, even puppies are returning their containers. Meet Lina, the rescue greyhound, who decided to do her recycling at our return point in Osborne Park! #ContainersforchangeWA #Recycle #TOMRA Containers for Change WA
