23.01.2022 Paralysis Ticks cont........ Currently the best options for tick prevention are Bravecto and Nexgard. Both are chewable tablets that provide prevention for both fleas and ticks. Nexgard is given monthly (great for pets already receiving a monthly heartworm tablet), while Bravecto is given every 3 months (a good option for pets on the annual heartworm injection who receive their intestinal wormer tablet every 3 months). Don’t forget your cats! Unfortunately there are less opt...ions for tick prevention in cats but Frontline spray can prevent paralysis ticks on cats when correctly applied every 3 weeks. Also check your pets daily by running your hands through their fur and feeling for a tick which often feels like a small scab or bump on the skin.
