24.01.2022 My Dad and the huge tuna he caught this week. He is still buzzing and said it was so exciting pulling it in! So proud of him, and the huge heart that he has, means we get to share in the delicious feast afterwards This pasta was sensational! I use brown rice penne and chickpea pasta, make my own pasta sauce (homegrown tomatoes, garlic, onion, salt and pepper, carrot and zucchini) then sautéed carrot, corn and baby spinach before stirring through the tuna and pasta, topped with cheese of course! Yummmmm. Love you Dad x Ernst

24.01.2022 Bay whipping up a storm this morning...Carrot Cake Recipe from Theresa Cutter The Healthy Chef. Gluten and dairy free. So good!

24.01.2022 Honestly the biggest help this morning thanks Bay! My favourite juice of all time Carrot Beetroot Celery... Apple Lemon Ginger++++ All organic from our veggie coop. Yessss Side note: I realise having kids in the kitchen can be hard. And it was challenging at the start for sure. I can only say that positive experiences (lots of praise and tasting along the way) will lead to more time in the kitchen which will lead to them getting more and more helpful. Definitely a lesson in patience. I now can’t slice a piece of cheese without Bay running to the kitchen calling my turn!!! And pushing over his learning tower. Super cute and definitely not always ideal. But seeing this makes my heart sing because it shows me he loves being in the kitchen, and at 2.5years that’s all I can ask!

20.01.2022 Lima Maca Slice made with love for all the retreat guests at @sublime_yoga Day Retreat Tomorrow! Enjoy

20.01.2022 I hope everyone is enjoying The Slow Down as @droscarserrallach calls it, (instead of The Lockdown). Brilliant way to view this time and see it as an opportunity. Thinking of families experiencing stressful times and hope they pass quickly. Thinking of the people still working especially those in health care. Meanwhile I’ve been busy giving our pantry a nice makeover So satisfying. Keep safe everyone xo

20.01.2022 The lovely Sabrina from Sublime Yoga has asked me to provide some tasty treats for her upcoming retreat. Well how could I resist!!

19.01.2022 Bay is my little carb monster, he would eat toast, pasta then more toast every day if we let him! So knowing he’s getting some veggies in here feels great (see previous post about veggie loaded cheese sauce!) Plus how cute is his little grin at the end

19.01.2022 Fun with the fam this morning strawberry picking at @harvestthefleurieu Bay loved collecting the sweetest juiciest strawberries he’s probably ever tasted! It was his reward this week for getting all his stars in the board. He really revels in collecting these throughout the week and giving him a positive experience with wholefood as a reward feels really good for mama too! Win win

09.01.2022 Today...I filled our freezer! I made Chicken Broth, Beef Lasagne, Bolognese, Osso Bucco Stew and Healing Pumpkin Soup. So grateful to have the knowledge to make nourishing food for our family post birth in bulk now, so that sleeplessness and fatigue don’t get in the way of nourishing our whole family when bubs arrives. Highly recommend the book The First Fourty Days and following @thenourishedmum and @deva_co_birthconnection for all things pregnancy, birth and beyond...

09.01.2022 Any good Bay? Official Taste Tester at work Beetroot Chocolate Cupcakes for little person’s birthday who lives across the road. Happy 2nd birthday Arlo!

07.01.2022 On Wednesday I made Lamb Shank Stew in 5 minutes, with 2 young kids at home and it made for a totally stress free delicious dinner! On top of this the day prior I made a huge pot of chicken soup. Freezer is full and immune system is getting a good boost! Heres what you need: 2 chicken frames 1 whole chicken 4 lamb shanks... 1 bag chicken necks for broth (optional but awesome) 6 onions 10 cloves garlic 1 huge knob ginger 10 carrots 6 zucchini 4 other veg types in bulk suggestions are kale, mushrooms, corn, celery, potato Here’s how it went down: First while the toddler was eating breakfast, I made a huge broth. 2 pots of it! Not only for the Lamb Stew, also for the Chicken Soup. Quick and easy task at breaky! Next I prepared the vegetables for BOTH the soup and the stew. This gets done at some point of the morning whenever the kids are happy! So you need a food processor or Thermomix. In go the onions and garlic, chop the set aside. Next the carrots, 8-10 of them! Zucchini, celery, leek, anything else you like. Each kept in containers or bowls. Then a few hours later around lunch time we setup the soup to cook for dinner. Whole chicken in to the pot, veg in and top up with the broth that’s been cooking all morning. Then top up the broth with more water and this will be a new batch by dinner! Late afternoon, take the whole chicken out and shred the meat. Then you can make another broth with this carcass. Come evening, you have a delicious nutritious huge pot of Chicken Soup, plus tomorrow morning you have everything prepped for a Lamb Stew too! Pretty handy as a Mumma to have quick meals on hand for the next month or so, super cost effective and delicious Ps to add flavour to soup try ground coriander, turmeric, salt and pepper. To add flavour to stew try fresh thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper. Enjoy!

07.01.2022 The easiest quickest 3 ingredient ice cream!! Both hubby and toddler approved. 3 Frozen bananas 1 Cup frozen berries 1 teaspoon rice malt syrup (optional)... You’re welcome

04.01.2022 Bay and I made these yummy Chocolate Brownies and had a great time together. The extra mess and time taken to make them is so worth it on the days I’ve got a little extra energy. He absolutely loves helping me each meal time in the kitchen. He gets more excited about the food he’s eating and I definitely feel he’s more likely to eat a larger amount if he’s helped to make it. @littlerisersau is where we got our learning tower! Highly recommend! At this stage of pregnancy, I’m making double EVERYTHING and freezing at least half the batch if not more. Going to taste oh so good with a newborn in tow...

01.01.2022 Never been a better time to be part of a veggie co-op! Support the local farmers to keep them afloat keep out of the shops for staple fruit and veg make new connections in your community great value Feeling so blessed to be connected to a local group of lovely Mamas in Maslin Beach who organise this organic veggie co-op. Do you have one near you? Also if you’re not already washing all your fruit and veg now is the time! Fill your sink and add a good splash of apple cider vinegar, leave for a few mins then rinse with clean filtered water. I hope you’re all keeping well
