22.01.2022 Pool Safety...you can't ignore it. Here's the latest edition of Willoughby City News. The back page has a timely reminder about Pool Safety. Don't risk it ...get your pool certified safe right now. The Swimming Pools Act (1992) is full of complexities and nuances designed to protect anyone vulnerable, in particular children, to injury or harm resulting from a spa or swimming pool.... The team at Signature Pool Safety are fully qualified to assess your pool against the requirements of the Act to mitigate risk. This involves an onsite inspection of the pool (which you don’t have to be home for), a compliance report and issuing of a compliance certificate. On occasion, compliance can involve changes to features or structures followed by a secondary inspection and issuing a compliance certificate. Signature Pool Safety are committed to providing you with quality information and a speedy result to make sure your compliance process is quick and painless. 15.01.2022 Volunteer and participate person with a disability.... hi i’m a participant and want to spread the word about an organisation called gig buddies... Going out to see bands, clubbing, or seeing friends is part of everyday life for many people. However, if you have a learning disability you may need support to do this. We have found many people with learning disabilities aren’t able to lead full and active social lives because their support workers finish at 10pm and therefore need to leave events at 9pm. you would need to commit to attending at least one catch up, or "gig", a month with your buddy. This gig could be as casual as meeting up for a chat and a coffee or as adventurous as going to a musical festival together. It is up to you and your new buddy to decide what gig you would like to enjoy together each month. You don't need to have any experience of working with people with learning disabilities and/or autism but you will need to be committed, a good listener, interested in promoting people's rights and well-being, and support social inclusion. You will gain skills in advocacy, supporting people with learning disabilities and community development. As a volunteer, you will be fully trained and supported by the Gig Buddies Sydney team. This position is subject to an individual criminal record check and two references. Volunteer form https://assistcom.org/gb/index.php/forms/vol
