23.01.2022 Some of the last things to be packed Prioritising movement in this busy season had been such a great decision

21.01.2022 They say moving house is one of the most stressful life experiences. And given we're in the midst of it... I'm inclined to agree But what do we do with that knowledge? Do we surrender to all the pressure we're under, and chalk all the shortness and snappyness up to the inevitable outcome of going through something stressful? Or do we acknowledge the extra pressure... then work out a plan to prioritise self-care, and make a deliberate effort to add extra patience, kindness and... understanding to our interactions? It's like with those personality tests. If we take a Myers-Briggs or Enneagram test and find it accurate, how do we use that information? Do we accept our more challenging personalty tendencies as "just who we are"? Or use that new awareness as a reminder of where to focus some deliberate effort or attention? Of course... it's not an either/or, but rather a both/and situation for most of us. But one question that keeps popping up for me right now is: "Who do I want to be, in the face of this?" "This" might be a stressful situation, or a habit/tendancy that is causing issues in our relationships. When things are tough... Who do I want to be? In the moments when I have capacity, I want to be someone who is proactive, who recognises the challenges and rises to meet them. Even when things are feeling a little fragile

20.01.2022 Spending just a few moments with legs up the wall A great place to be, especially when the body and/or mind are feeling a little weary

18.01.2022 See that black rectangle up there? Those are my scales. I've never found watching the numbers on the scale to be a helpful or healthy thing for me. I truly believe all bodies are good bodies. Health is complex and multi-faceted, but it's all so personal and individual that the numbers themselves don't mean a whole lot.... Here are some other metrics/questions I like to ask... - What has my body allowed me to do today? - What does my body need right now? - Have I moved in some different directions this week? - How am I fuelling my body? I try to explore these questions with as little judgement as possible. Because really, this body is just a vessel. It's the keeper of my magic (thanks @stephaniechinnart). And it's also the least interesting thing about me. For times when I forget all this, I've got @whogivesacraptp up on top to remind me

17.01.2022 How are you doing? Really? 2020 has been a doozy of a year and if you're in survival mode right now I get it Here's a couple of little things you can do while scrolling your phone just to bring your awareness back into your space

16.01.2022 These two have been working hard on some carols these last few weeks If you're around Roberts Ave this morning, they'd love it if you could come watch and maybe drop a few coins in to support @horshampaws & @wwf_australia (the girls chosen charities) Planning to be there about 11.30am

16.01.2022 Last week, we focused on this set of poses as our 'home base'. A place to come back to, where we can refocus our attention on what we need physically, mentally and emotionally. It feels like a really appropriate practice to bring into this week - finding 'home base'. For you it might be a cup of tea, a walk around the block, a few minutes of journalling... Taking the decision making out of our self care can make it a lot more accessible, especially during busy times. No classes this week, but you can find some short and long practices over on YouTube: https://youtube.com/channel/UCKv1gOUijmgsVLHfjRH8JJA

13.01.2022 The aftermath of the storm. How was that rain today!?

12.01.2022 Beautiful, heartwarming and powerful. The human brain is incredibly complex

10.01.2022 End of the day. Exhale.

08.01.2022 Pit stop with our favourite pie guys @flowerpowersoulfood at @thecreswickmarket

07.01.2022 Well this looks super fun!! Any young people wanting to run away and join the circus - you only have to go as far as Natimuk!

07.01.2022 Just call me Martha

07.01.2022 Sometimes I see something that reminds me how far I've come. This sign was one of the first things I bought for My Yoga Well. It's so nice to remember the early days, the ups and downs, and all the lessons learned along the way. Even though it's looking a little worse for wear, and needs to be put out to pasture, the yoga is still going strong. And I can't wait to see what comes next

03.01.2022 This morning I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Laura and Dara from @themamareset. These ladies have created an online fitness platform that I have been using for the last couple of months, and I LOVE it! The workouts are short, effective and super fun! They infuse everything they do with body love and acceptance, and it's got me excited about being stronger for the first time since kids. I finish every workout feeling SO glad that I did it They're opening up for ne...w members soon, and you can get yourself a free trial by heading to @themamareset or checking out the details on the second image #notanad #justloveit #sustainablestrength
