06.01.2022 Do you ever just finish up a meal and about 20 minutes later you find yourself hungry again? Abit pekish perhaps? You are not alone! The solution to this is simple Our bodies thrive off a balance of 3 Macronutrients:... Carbohydrates Protein Fats Commonly in Australia, the average house hold meal, especially dinner is primary made of carbs and proteins Think about what you ate for dinner tonight, was there a balance of all 3 macronutrients? If not, chances are you're abit hungry right now and you see it's for a very good reason. The answer is: You still may be hungry if you have lacked your good fat intake today, without even realizing. Good fats are beneficial for your heart , assist in getting rid of the "bad" cholesterol in your body, help your body absorb nutrients , and assist in optimal cell, nerve and brain function Your brain will signal hunger even if you just ate 20 minutes go if you didn't provide your body with a balanced amount of Macronutrients... why would your brain do this? Your brain signals hunger not because your stomach is empty (it's likely quite full) but because your cells are hungry on a nutritional level (so these hunger signals are not actual H U N G E R signals but almost like a cry for help!) In the hope that this time, you will provide your body with a source of fat and not just carbs and proteins! P.s fats also keep you fuller for longer because their genetic make up is oily. Fat food molecules have a so called oily layer around the outside of the molecule so when your body breaks down the food, it takes longer due to the oily substance = fuller for longer/takes longer to digest. There can also be other reasons why you are frequently hungry which I will post about in the next coming days. To find out more about good fat sources drop a question below or DM me
