16.01.2022 This week there’s been a lot of talk about Tuesday nights In Conversation with Roxy Jacenko. I’ve heard plenty of opinions, even from people who didn’t attend. So here’s my thoughts..... I was never Team Roxy. I don’t work in PR and Marketing, I’ve never ‘followed’ her. I’ve always had a mixed opinion of her, granted the media version of her, so I wanted to attend to hear and see the unedited unfiltered live version. ... Did I get that, yes. Do I still have a mixed opinion, yes. Do I think more or less of her, a little bit of both. Did I get what I expected, not entirely. Partly because the content delivered isn’t what I expected, which has nothing to do with the event but about MY expectations. But here’s the thing about expectations, you need to manage them and deliver what you advertise. $225 a ticket for a 2 course meal, premium drinks package and Roxy. Was the meal served reflective of the price, no. Were the drinks premium, DEFINITELY NOT! Especially when the wines retail for around $13 a bottle. RETAIL!!!! Did I see Roxy, yes. Would I pay to see her again? no.
