23.01.2022 Unable to tackle through some hard tasks on your to-do list? No matter how many times you think about doing them, you just cant seem to take any action. You start attributing lack of time, or something else externally as the reason you havent been able to get through these tasks. Whereas, in reality, the reason you havent done it is because the task is just a little outside, what you think, your normal capability.... Completing tasks, no matter how small, is really essential for our mental health. The feeling of achievement or fulfilment helps us feel good internally. But when we have these hard tasks that we are unable to tick off our list, we start getting disturbed. And this disturbance causes us further stress. To prevent this disturbance and to keep that lightness internally heres a simple tip. When you have a task that you are finding difficult, that you keep pushing off for another time, and just dont take action towards. Break the task down into three. Now that could mean breaking the task itself into three simpler parts or setting three steps that will help you towards the task. Keep breaking these steps further into three, until you get to the simplest of steps. Once the task has been broken into the simplest step, start taking action there, and start going up the chain. You will soon build momentum and realise the task is completed much easier than you anticipated. Have a go at your hardest task, using that formula. How are they powerful? Well, because scientifically proven, thoughts light up the same neural pathways as a physical movement. So, when you think about moving your hand, or you actually move it, its the same activity in the brain. The same neural pathway gets lit up whether you imagine something happening or if it actually happens. Values are what is most important to us. They are an evaluation filter that make judgement on our actions and provide the motivation for taking these actions. So, to take consistent, committed action, your actions need to be aligned to your values. Values may be specific, such as owning a home or earning a million dollars or starting a charity or they may be more general, such as health, love, and happiness. Everyone is different and will hold different core values based on their life experiences. Whatever your values are, there is always a way to re-frame the value to help motivate you on your journey. 16.01.2022 Intelligent Quarantine I might be late in addressing this topic but to be honest I was in complete denial of the current situation lasting this long. Quarantine is becoming the new normal. Intelligently so.... We have lockdowns, social distancing, travel restrictions but with no sight of having the situation resolved. When borders start to open and we start travelling for business and leisure there is a high chance of it coming with the price of a quarantine. I have had family and friends returning back home to their countries put into quarantine facilities. Recently my brother went through it in New Zealand. I actually have a friend right now in quarantine and another one going into quarantine next week as he returns back to Australia. In these facilities, the basic needs of food and shelter are covered. But to be intelligent about our quarantine we need to have our mental and emotional needs covered as well. Things we can do to be intelligent in quarantine: Stick to a routine: With all the normal benefits of a routine aside it also gives us the opportunity to have a variety of things to do during the day. Exercise: Extremely important for our physical and mental health, exercise regulates our hormones. It is an important component of a normal routine but even more so in quarantine. There are various free resources online for exercising in a small space. Eat well: The food provided at the facilities may not always be the best nutrition. Make sure to arrange proper supplementary options to keep on top of your health. Journey within: When you cant venture outside, go on a journey within. Explore your internal environment with meditation. Pay attention to your thoughts and memories and the emotions experienced to gain a better insight of your true self. Write: We all have plans and ideas, even stories in our minds. Quarantine is the perfect time to put them in writing and giving them the force to become reality. Another good exercise is to write a journal to document our feelings and experiences that can be used in the future for personal development. Connect: In our busy lives we often lose touch with people we would truly like to bond with. 16.01.2022 It is the simplest but the most essential first step to anything. This actually happens before starting in the direction of change, of transformation, towards success. This, essentially, is the gate keeper because most often the only thing holding us back from experiencing the life of our dreams is ourselves. This step is permission, the action of officially allowing ourselves to do a particular thing, act a certain way, to experience life as we desire. In todays hyper conne...cted world, we are always showering others with encouragement and support, but we secretly hold ourselves back. Change, transformation, success, we think, is wonderful for other people. Certainly not for us. We are just the junior, the struggler, the underdeveloped. We tell ourselves we were not created for anything great. And that is how we can be our biggest roadblock to success, but we can also be our greatest champion if we give ourselves permission to succeed. As humans, we are wired to seek permission. Only when we have the permission, we proceed to take action. So, before embarking on our journeys, we need to allow ourselves to receive, to achieve and be rewarded with whatever it is that we are working towards. When we take ownership of our lives in this manner, we eliminate the space for blame and excuses, we become in charge of our lives. We realise that we have the key to unlock our greatest potential. 13.01.2022 Equation for Success Simplicity and success go together. The simpler we keep things, the easier it is to be successful. The successful we get at something, simpler it becomes. So, this equation by Dr Kazuo Inamori, a Japanese entrepreneur, dubbed the Buddhist Billionaire is the simplest equation for success. And this can be applied in all areas of our lives.... No, its not some magical formula that will just get you everything on a platter. But yes, if applied correctly, it does lead to success. According to him Effort Skill Attitude = Success To put this into practice Effort and Skill are scored ranging from 0 100 points. Since they are multiplied and not added, you can see that a person who applies unbeatable efforts to compensate for their average skills can accomplish more that the genius relying solely on their skill while making minimal efforts. Attitude though, because it can be negative or positive, ranges from -100 to +100. And multiplying the product of effort and skill with attitude can change the result 180 degrees. So, all the effort but no skill will not lead you to success, also just being skilled without any effort wont either. And while unbeatable effort can compensate for average skill, which can always be learned, it is our attitude that counts the most. As an example if you want a fit and toned body and you are showing up to the gym every day, so you are putting in your effort, you even employed a personal trainer, so you are getting skilled at working out too. But your attitude is negative. You just hate going to the gym and eating a healthier diet. That success will not be simple. So, skill can be learned and effort can be scheduled. 09.01.2022 So after the last video, I got asked what is the best way to set a goal that makes it definitely achievable Now, If you are not already in a habit of writing your goals so you can see them and visualise them regularly, I strongly suggest to get into that habit. This crystallizes them and gives them more force. When you set and write a goal make sure it has these elements.... Specificity: Specific goals, down to the minutest detail, means you are clear about what you want to achieve. Time Bound: Making your goals time bound keeps you on schedule. It helps you make consistent and significant progress in the long term. Attainability: Consider your abilities, then push your boundaries but still keep your goal within attainable limits. Reasons: Stating deep, clear, heartfelt reasons why you want to achieve the goal. Three actions: When you set a goal, write with it three actions you will take that will help you achieve it. 09.01.2022 Schedules and Routines. My struggles with them, and looking at them differently. All through my adult life I have had trouble with schedules and routines. The word routine used to send a shudder down my spine. To me it meant a strict day with no room for fun, freedom or spontaneity. Its because Ive often told myself that most of my cherished life experiences have come out of spontaneity, not because of my dedication to any sort of schedule. In a way, I really believed th...is to be true. But the actual truth is Through Discipline comes Freedom- Aristotle. It took me a while to understand it and its still a bit of a struggle to apply this discipline that brings freedom. But this is what I have understood. I miss out on doing things I cherish and love to do. Because I get busy, because something urgent comes up, and then before I know it, I havent done activities i cherish in a long time. Do you find that happens to you too? Why? Why is it that we miss out on something we really like doing? Actually, better to ask this, how can we make sure we get to do those things? No matter how busy our lives may seem. We can do it by scheduling those activities, by creating a routine around them. So, a schedule, a routine, doesnt have to mean a strict day of no freedom. It can mean scheduling things we really like doing and then spending the day working around those. It means freedom to choose things we want to do because we love doing them. Also, a schedule can also be a framework for the day. So whenever during the day you get a bit lost as to what to do next? You go back to your schedule and you know exactly what you are meant to be doing. Sticking to a routine and keeping a schedule makes life so much simpler, fun and full of freedom to spontaneously do things. Let me know how you stick to your routines and schedules. 05.01.2022 The most important question to ask. So when you have set a goal, or thought of a result, where do you get motivation for it? Let me tell you something.... Clarity generates the most motivation. So how do you get clarity By asking the most important question. Not WHAT?, Not HOW?, but by asking WHY When you think of a goal or result, ask yourself WHY is it important to me When you get an answer, ask WHY, again, framing the answer you got the first time as the question now. Ask why is that important to me When you get that second answer, ask WHY, again. Keep going till you clearly know, not just the prize of getting that result or goal, but also the process of getting to it, and why that process is important to you. What you would have just done is given your brain some real good quality clarity and then it will keep pumping out all the motivation you need to go make it a reality. 04.01.2022 I get in the way of achieving my goals and results. Does that statement hold true for you too? Often, we ourselves are the biggest blocks in the way of our goals.... HowBy letting these 3 Is play the wrong part in our life. nstincts: Paramount for our survival. They are meant to keep us safe. But what happens when we start our journey towards our goals? Our limiting beliefs start acting out as our instincts. Acting for our survival, because we might be trying something new, getting out of our comfort zone, we instinctively get pulled back into what our mind perceives to be safe. Thus, giving up on the dream. magination: Very important to think and create realities beyond our current senses, to set goals and dream about results beyond our current situations. But wat happens when we are on our journey to achieving these goals? We start to imagine the negative outcomes. Our trapped emotions start surfacing through imagination of things going wrong. We fear failure and thus give up on the goal. ntelligence: Logic, planning, self-awareness are all really important aspects of life. But what happens when we start applying intelligence in extra doses to the goals we set or results we want to achieve? We sabotage them. We let our values get conflicted. We start logically thinking of all that we might lose if we get the result. We start planning for plan B in case we fail. We become self-aware and start being over critical of our actions. So, as much as we need Instincts, Imagination, and Intellect in our life, we also need to know when to let them play their part and when they play against our efforts of making our dream a reality and how to avoid that.

02.01.2022 Want to help someome with a faltering mental health? Poor mental health simply put, is when our mental health is not what we would want it to be. Finding it difficult to manage our thoughts, how we feel, and not coping respectfully with daily stresses could be a sign of poor mental health. ... There are triggers that can cause this. Stress, loss of a loved one, relationship breakdown, trauma, social pressure and expectations, and more. If you are worried about someone who might have had their mental health triggered, look out for signs and symptoms. Signs can be behavioural, how they feel, or physical. If you want to help someone who is going through a time of poor mental health Treat them with respect and dignity. Stay calm. Let them know you care. Talk with them. Be mindful of the tone. Listen! Be open. Dont be judgemental. Dont be dismissive. Empathise. Give them time. Suggest that speaking to someone they feel comfortable with, a doctor or a mental health professional, may help them feel better. Offer assistance (i.e. find someone they trust talking with and make the appointment or arrange the meeting, and if they wish, be with them at the time) All that you suggest them, exercising, eating right, mindfulness, positive thinking, do it with them.
