25.01.2022 Patrolling yesterdays HR. All looking good. In the distance can be seen the Tea Gardens HR.

25.01.2022 The fire danger for the Mid Coast tomorrow, Friday 25 September will be Very High and all fire permits will be suspended. Under these conditions you should revi...ew your bush fire survival plan, keep yourself informed about conditions and be ready to act if necessary. For current information on fires in the area visit www.rfs.nsw.gov.au or download the Fires Near Me app for smartphones. If you see a fire and no fire trucks in attendance call triple zero (000) immediately.

20.01.2022 Bad weather on the way. Batten down the hatches

16.01.2022 Here we go again. Another storm on its way past. This one with a fair bit of wind with it.

14.01.2022 As the weather starts to heat up, it's a good reminder for residents to start preparing your home for bush fires. Taking these important steps now, could make a...ll the difference if a fire was to threaten you and your home. It is also important to make sure you have a bush fire survival plan and have discussed and practiced it with your family. For more information on on making your plan, visit www.myfireplan.com.au

13.01.2022 Weird day yesterday. Plan was the Cat9 was going to patrol the NAC hazard reduction and the Cat1 to help out at the Tea Gardens HR. Started off well, then paged to incident up the Pacific Highway towards Nerong. Both Cat9 and Cat1 attended. Turned out to be a legal burn. All good and back to Patrolling for the 9 and back to Tea Gardens for the 1. End of day another page to a motor vehicle accident at Bulahdelah. Cat9 responds as does Cat1 on their way back to the station af...ter the HR. Turned around as not required. All good. Both vehicles back in station at 5:30 pm. About to cook dinner, Pager goes off. Fire sighting at Carrington. Long story short back in station at 8:00 pm. What a day.

11.01.2022 Back in station at 20:00. Cleaned all the hoses. Vehicles prepared and ready to roll if needed. One crew to be up early to run a patrol around the HR. The other crew up even earlier to help out at a HR over at Tea Gardens. Just another day in the service.

11.01.2022 Warming up tomorrow with strong North Westerly winds predicted.

07.01.2022 Called out to a fire on the Pacific Highway North Arm Cove. Median strip alight. Probable cause, tossed cigarette. High winds meant the fire spread quickly but was brought under control by the crew of North Arm Cove 1 who attacked the head of the fire. Each year we are called out to fires on the Pacific Highway that are completely avoidable. Please keep your butts in the vehicle.

05.01.2022 When it rains it pours in the Cove. 200mm of rain in the gauge. A couple of call outs on to the Pacific Highway. Water everywhere. Photos are of the access road into North Arm Cove.

03.01.2022 5 hours into it and the hazard reduction is going along beautifully.

03.01.2022 Update: Wednesday 30 Sept. HR going a head today. Fingers crossed everybody. Update: Friday 18 Sept. Ground conditions were looking spot on for the HR today. Then the rain started early this morning and once again the ground conditions are back to being too wet. We can't get a break. UPDATE: Tuesday 15 Sept. Ground conditions currently still too wet to sustain burn. Pencil in Friday for HR to take place. ... Going to give the Hazard Reduction another go. Notice to NAC residents. A hazard reduction is to take place south of the Community Centre next week. Details attached. Hopefully all the stars line up and the rain will stay away.
