15.01.2022 After creating, baking & decorating 700 dessert items over 2 very long days (& nights) the lovely Fran Gatenby & I set up the Edible Art Dessert Bar at the Pacific Palms Art Festival Opening Night (with extra assistance from Mel Ovenden from Green Room Botanicals who created the floral sculpture at the front entrance) for attendees to enjoy! What a fabulous evening it was! 28.12.2021 There’s a story behind every wedding & I love it when the bridal couple shares theirs with me. This gorgeous couple are very generously sharing it with you too. After 35 years together, Will thought he was on a sure thing & asked Beverley to marry him. Beverley & Will had quite the adventure! Starting & ending locally with a train trip to Sydney in between. Their wedding cake had quite the adventure with them! I’ve learned along the way that the best laid plans can go hay...wire & that being flexible in mind is key to enjoying oneself! I think Will & Beverley would agree. Hello Nadine One week on, I will share with you the story of our wedding. It was not the wedding we had planned, as during the journey down on the Monday we learned that one family member had tested positive for covid (and over the next 2 days three more succumbed). So we would not be seeing them or having the wedding at their home as planned. Our celebrant was marvellous and agreed to marry us at The Grace Hotel where we stayed. Her husband and his daughter came along as witnesses and photographers. The hotel was great and gave us a space. So we had a lovely little ceremony with the family on a zoom connection so we could see and talk to one another. We had a nice lunch afterwards. Then returned home the following morning New Years Eve, and had a morning tea with 12 of our friends on New Years Day where we cut and shared our well travelled wedding cake. The fruit cake was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved it! #thankyou At any event, it’s best to be present & enjoy the company & the cake!
