24.01.2022 Hello Friends and Clients and former clients I have been speaking to some you about researching and sending articles or links to you, regarding the disturbing increase of melanoma, skin cancer presenting in people’s nail beds as a result of repeated exposure to the UV lamps. Instead, I am inviting you to research this for yourself (its simpler for me to advise you) ... I have recently, and more frequently seen articles about this, and it seems, many of you are becoming aware of the increased incidence also. I had previously disregarded these articles, as I’m certain many of you have, as sensationalism in social media. Until one of my clients (a doctor herself) told me about her uncle, an oncologist, expressing his concern for her as he is seeing this increase in cancer melanoma in the nail beds; yes this includes your feet/toes. The UV lamps use UVA, this frequency causes the highest incidence of skin cancer and the principle reason that led to the demise of the sunbed tanning industry. Misuse through frequency is certainly a contributor also. While some are protecting the skin on the back of their hands this does not protect the even softer, fleshier, moist nail beds.
