09.01.2022 Dear clients, Please note that we have updated our COVID19 protocols. We are finding our waiting room getting a bit busier than we'd like and for us to remain operational, we need your help to get that under control. If you are after FOOD, MEDICATIONS or PARASITE CONTROL, please phone ahead so we can get your order prepared. This will minimise the time you spend in the waiting room, and thus the risk of exposure to both clients and staff. When you do come into the clinic, please check that the waiting room is clear before entering. Thank you for your understanding!!

06.01.2022 Updated******* We have been informed by the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia, that we are to remain open for essential services only, if you are unclear as to what this means please call us at the clinic on 8188 0266 (during business hours). We understand how difficult this may be for you all at this time but please know that we will be here if you need us. Our opening hours remain the same, 8am-7pm Monday -Friday, 8am-1pm Saturdays. Please all stay safe! Dea...r Clients, I'm sure, like us, you've all been waiting for today's updates for the state regarding the recent COVID-19 outbreak. We are very grateful to once again be considered an essential service, so we can continue to care for your fur children throughout this 6 day pause. The new restrictions will mean we need to bring back a few protocols in order to comply and keep everybody safe. We ask for your cooperation with the following: - Face masks are mandatory and you will need to provide your own - Only one person per pet will be allowed in the clinic - Hand sanitise upon entry - Upon arrival at the clinic, remain in your car and call 81880266. We will check you in/address your needs over the phone. This is to keep traffic in the waiting room to a minimum. If you have COVID- 19 symptoms, have been asked to self isolate, have visited any hot spot areas (as declared by SA Health) or had contact with anyone who has tested positive, please DO NOT come into the clinic. If this is the case and you feel that your pet needs to be seen for something that cannot wait, please stay home and phone ahead to advise us about your situation. We can discuss your pet’s condition over the phone and assess the level of urgency to organise a solution. We appreciate your help in complying with restrictions over the next 6 days! Look after each other The Nairne Vet Family xx

06.01.2022 Today we are wishing a very happy 5th birthday to a particularly special patient of ours - Skittles!!! Taking on the last few months with an unwavering positivity and strength, Skittles has inspired us all and earnt a place in all of our hearts. Skittles' battle has been with immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia (IMHA), where his immune system was targeting and destroying his own red blood cells, reducing them to a critical level on several occasions. He started immunosuppressi...ve medication, which takes weeks to become effective. In the meantime, Skittles needed 3 blood transfusions to support him through. After countless hospital stays, vet visits and blood tests, he is now at a point where he is producing and maintaining red blood cells at a normal level and is on the road to recovery. His survival is a testament to his incredibly committed owners and some very generous blood donors (shout out to Floyd - picture 2, and Floyd's family who responded quickly to help save a life). We hope he enjoys his 5th birthday, which we know he will because he's one of the happiest fellas going around. See more
