25.01.2022 Smoking ceremony reconciliation day
25.01.2022 We would like to thank everyone for their kindness and generosity. You can now feel in the wind that this is a time for change and for healing. Many of us are p...ausing in our daily lives to feel this. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. We can all feel it. Many are telling us how they too watch and check this crowd funding, and how it is encouraging and exciting to them. Changes and kindness like this impacts us all. Love creates love. We believe now our Community will have a home. Our dream now feels real, we thank you for your kindness and the hope we now feel in our hearts. This kind of hope can make you cry, but that's okay, because it opens up your heart and mind to believe in love and the goodness of humanity, and that we can walk forward together. We are making change for our kids and our children's kids. ..... From Nalderun. chuffed.org/project/mamunya See more

17.01.2022 Every year to kick off Reconciliation Week AFL conduct the Sir Doug Nicholls round. The Saturday night is a great match between Essendon and Richmond clubs, but before the match many things happen in Fed Square in Melbourne and then Michael Long leads The Long Walk to the Dreamtime at the G game. Due to the current situation this won't be happening. ... Instead this year The Little Long Walk will be happening. Get together with some of the Mob on Friday 29th May between 10-12, practice physical distancing and get some exercise. Hope to see you around (from a distance of course!)

05.01.2022 STAY CONNECTED ... It won't be long 'til we're all back together. Great things happen when Community comes together and this project is an amazing example of ju...st that. After the success of Uncle Rick's COVID-19 Rap, the Nalderun Community, supported by a brilliant creative team have faciliated another amazing musical project to deliver the important message about public health and well being for all. "It's been a really hard time for a lot of people during lockdown and restrictions...we hope that this will warm your hearts and encourage you all to get connected with each other, with Country, cultural identity, family, friends and Community Elders" - Declan Furber Gillick - Song Writer and Community Arts Facilitator. Special thaks to all involved that made this happen. From the Nalderun Mob (the Meeting Place for CSC kids), Aunty Julie McHale, Kath Coff, Cath and Stuart (People Pictures), Justin (Ghost Studios), Camilo Demarco and BDAC for all working together to support and help realise this great project. And a BIG shout out to Uncle Rick Nelson for his enthusiasm and to Declan Furber Gillick for his brilliant words. "When everyone jumps on board and work towards the same goal - magic happens" Enjoy! . . . . #Nalderun #BDAC #PeoplePictures #GhostStudios #DeclanFurberGillick #Community #Culture #Connection

01.01.2022 Interview with Uncle Rick Nelson on 3KND today: "He says it's really important to connect to the country, to heal each other and heal country, heal ourselves. "...It is unfortunate that we do have to raise money to buy some of our own land back, in the first instance it's what we've got to do right now,' he says 'we couldn't wait a couple of years for Treaty to come through and see what comes from that, we didn't have that time." The support from the broader community has been a wonderful example of the power of community and Uncle Ricky is happy that so many people have come together to make this dream a possibility."
