19.01.2022 Radhe radhe! Last evening, Sri Janardanan ji began by eliciting the greatness of Ramayanam. In continuation with the story, he described how, many demons like Viradha were killed by Sri Rama and Lakshmana. Laksjhmana built a beautiful ashram at Panchavati in Dandaka forest. It is here that Shurpanakha saw and wanted to marry the divine brothers. On facing rejection, she approached her brothers, Khara and Dushana, who also met their end at the hands of Sri Rama. ... Ravana, on hearing of these incidents from Shurpanakha, captures Sita Devi, with the aid of Maricha, who assumed the form of a beautiful golden deer. Jatayu tried to save Sita, but was mortally wounded by Ravana. Ravana finally took Sita Devi to Lanka, and kept her heavily guarded by Rakshasis. While Sri Rama and Lakshmana were searching for Sita Devi, they meet Jatayu. Jatayu informs them about Sita Devi’s abduction by Ravana. With the divine names of Sri Rama on his lap he leaves the body. Sri Rama does the last rites for Jatayu and set out on the mission to find Sita Devi. 11.01.2022 Srimad Ramayanam Discourse Series by Brahmasri Janardanan Ghanapati ji - Sydney Namadwaar Priest Day 7: 23/10/2020 - Sundara Kandam

05.01.2022 Radhe Radhe All, We are in the midst of a wonderful satsang by our Sydney Namadwaar Priest, Janardhanan Ghanapati Ji with a powerful discourse series on Srimad Ramayanam. Yesterday we listened to the very auspicious Sundara Kandam of Srimad Ramayanam. ... After praying to all the Gods, Hanuman leapt atop the Mahendra mountain. On his way to Lanka, he had several hurdles like Surasa, Simhika, and Mainaka Parvata. Overcoming all of these, he entered the city of Lanka. Hanuman entered Asokavana and found Sita there. She was sitting under a tree, looking pale and pensive, and constantly chanting Rama Nama. Even though she was heavily guarded by fearful looking Rakshasis, Hanuman was overjoyed to have finally found Sita. On capturing Hanuman, Ravana ordered his men to ignite his tail. With his tail on fire, Hanuman eluded his captors and flew from the top of one house to another, and set fire to all of Lanka. Then, he reassured Sita Devi that her Lord Rama will come soon to release her and kill Ravana. Saying this, he left. Anjaneya told Sri Rama what he had done, and placed the Choodamani that Sita had given him in Rama’s hand. Rama instantly recognised it. Sugreeva, readying his vast army, started with Rama and Lakshmana for the south. 01.01.2022 Rama Ekadasi is observed during the waning phase of the moon in Kartik month (October November). In 2020, the date of Rama Ekadashi is on November 11. The importance of this Ekadasi was narrated to Yudhishtira by Lord Krishna and is recorded in the Brahma Vaivarta Purana. Ekadashi is an important day dedicated to Lord Vishnu in a Hindu lunar month and it occurs twice in a month. Rama Ekadashi story: There was a King named Muchukunda who was blessed with a daughter named Ch...andrabhaga. She was married to the son of King Chandrasen, Shobana. Chandrabhaga’s father, King Muchukunda was a keen devotee of Lord Vishnu and instructed all the individuals of his kingdom to strictly observe a fast of Rama Ekadashi. Princess Chandrabhaga would keep the Rama Ekadashi fast since her childhood. Once her husband Prince Shobana was also present at the Kingdom of King Muchukunda during Krishna Paksha. It was the day of observing Rama Ekadashi fast. Due to King Muchukunda’s rule, he was also required to observe a fast for the day. However, Shobana was not able to observe the rigorous fast due to his poor and weak health. On this Chandrabhaga told her husband to go to some other place as if he stayed at Muchukunda’s kingdom, he would have to perform the ritual. However, Shobana decided to stay and observe the fast despite his ill health. Sadly, as Shobana was weak, due to thirst and hunger, he died at midnight. But because he had done his best to observe the fast, upon his death he was allowed to enter into the celestial world. He has gifted a unique and great kingdom. But because Shobana had fasted forcefully, the kingdom was invisible. One fine day a Brahmin from the Kingdom of Muchukunda wandered away from the kingdom and landed upon Shobana’s kingdom. The prince narrated everything that had happened with him to the Brahmin. When the Brahmin came back to the kingdom, he explained everything that had happened to Chandrabhaga. Chandrabhaga had divine blessings because she had observed the fast ever since her infancy. With her divine blessings she converted the kingdom into reality and they both reunited and ruled the Kingdom forever.
