25.01.2022 Our friends at Revelation Big Band are celebration their 5th anniversary (only 120 more to catch up to Nambour Corps!) If you're looking for a great night of music and good times, make your way to Bayside Salvos next Saturday evening, 13th of April! And remember, Revelation Big Band will be up at Nambour Salvos on May the 4th for a concert along with Just Brass and Nambour Band - should be a great night also!

25.01.2022 Some of our bandspeople added to this year’s Anzac Day commemorations by playing from their own driveways for their local community. We hope to share a few throughout the day. First up is Matt

24.01.2022 Our concert with Revelation BIG Band and Just Brass Nambour is on this evening! Should be a bunch of fun - hope you can make it along for the 6pm start!

24.01.2022 Our last event on Sunday was joining with Caloundra Salvos for their Carols by Candlelight. A lovely evening!

23.01.2022 A big thanks to Revelation BIG Band for hanging out with us last night - it was a great night!!

22.01.2022 After seeing this clip, wondering if we could integrate some pyrotechnics into our celebration concert with BCT this coming Saturday evening..

22.01.2022 Derek joined with the Saunders family where they also included the ode, hymns, national anthem and a flame of remembrance to their Anzac Day driveway service.

21.01.2022 VIRTUAL BAND These are unusual times, and many people around the world are adapting to a new way of life, including worship services and group rehearsals being ...cancelled. This means that many of us have missed out on our weekly band practices, and although nobody has told us (yet) not to practice on our own whilst in self isolation, it just isn't quite the same playing without others. Therefore, we are on a mission to create a virtual band, and we need you to take part! We have selected the piece 'Star Lake'. All parts of this piece are available for just 1 each this week on SA Music Index using voucher code VIRTUALBAND. Here is what to do: 1. Go and grab your part from your filing cabinet or from here - https://samusicindex.com/brass/star-lake/9578 2. Download a metronome app, set it to 126bpm and plug in your earphones so you can keep time (This is very important!) - Here is an option: https://www.google.com/search?q=metronome 3. Record yourself playing your part (video and audio) and send it to us on one of our social pages. We will cut it all together and post the result! The deadline for submissions is Monday 6th April.

21.01.2022 Ron has shared a little video of his Anzac Day commemoration this morning too

21.01.2022 In other circumstances, I would be out with the MSB today. I miss being able to play in band right now, especially my own corps band at South Barwon. So here I ...am, playing with the quintuplets. This arrangment of Repton using the the words of "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind" was made for South Barwon's Church@Home this week. (You can search on YouTube for The Salvation Army South Barwon, virtual service Sundays at 10am) EDIT: I just want to say a big thank you for the comments this video has received, and I'm encouraged greatly by them. I am incredibly blessed by the Lord with music in my life and I share that in every note. May this piece continue to bring blessing.

20.01.2022 Our second gig on Saturday was also our second gig at Aussie World for the week. This time it was during their 'Christmas Spectacular' event

19.01.2022 Ryan commemorated Anzac Day from his driveway (his Air Cadets uniform makes us wonder if there’s an opportunity for The Salvation Air Force?)

18.01.2022 It's been great that three of our Nambour crew have taken part in three different Revelation Big Band gigs this weekend. Always great to support and share in ministry with RBB!

17.01.2022 A big thanks to all those who participated in last Saturday's 125th celebration concert (Just Brass Nambour and Brisbane City Temple Band) and for all those who came along to be part of the celebration. For those who didn't make it along, here's a clip of our 'world premiere' of Sam Creamer Music Arranging's march written for this occasion!

17.01.2022 One of our bandspeople has also taken part in an iso-project for Anzac Day with RBB - Abide with Me.

16.01.2022 This year marks the 125th anniversary of The Salvation Army on (what we now call) the Sunshine Coast! We're looking forward to our 125th anniversary brass concert with Brisbane City Temple Band and Just Brass Nambour at Nambour Salvos on March 16th. Looking over our band's history, here's one of the earliest photos we have of the Nambour Salvation Army Band - from 1929 (90 years ago!)... Quick quiz: Which person in the photo is the grandfather of the current bandmaster?

15.01.2022 Well, this is exciting! "Coastal Celebration": A brand new piece of music written specifically by Sam Creamer for Nambour Corps and our celebration of 125 years of service here on the Sunshine Coast. We are very grateful to Sam Creamer Music Arranging for his fantastic musical skills and super speedy work!... Very much looking forward to playing this out soon. Our 125th celebration concert with Brisbane City Temple Band and Just Brass Nambour (from 6pm, March 16th) sounds like a perfect time to premiere this piece - make sure you don't miss it!

14.01.2022 VIRTUAL BAND ROUND TWO We can’t believe what a fantastic response we have had to our first VIRTUAL BAND STAR LAKE. We have been overwhelmed with comments a...nd messages, which we are really grateful for. So, in response to the popular demand, we are going for round two, and this time we are aiming for bigger and better! The piece we have chosen is Goldcrest, following the theme of classic SA marches. Here is what you need to do: 1. Head over to https://samusicindex.com/brass/goldcrest/9601 and purchase your part for just 1 using voucher code ‘VIRTUALBAND’ 2. Download a metronome app, set it to 132bpm and plug in your earphones so you can keep time (This is very important!) - Here is an option: https://www.google.com/search?q=metronome 3. Record yourself playing your part (video and audio) and send it to us on one of our social pages. We suggest using wetransfer.com to transfer your video file. 4. Tell us your name, corps (if any) and Country when you submit your video. 5. Share this post with your friends who you think would like to take part. Let’s spread it around the world. We will cut it all together and post the result! The deadline for submissions is Friday 22nd May.

13.01.2022 After our Sunday morning corps carol service, this small ensemble had a wonderful afternoon playing carols at Hibiscus Retirement Village

12.01.2022 Tonight we took part in the Maleny carols, a part of the community Christmas festival and Street Carnival! Here we are during our pre-carols set before some more Just Brass reinforcements arrived

09.01.2022 At 6am on ANZAC Day musicians everywhere are being called on to take to their front yards to play the Last Post. A grassroots campaign for Australians to comme...morate Anzac Day at dawn in their driveways is gathering momentum across the country. With traditional services and marches cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, RSL branches in every state have unanimously endorsed the gesture, with families across the nation expected to stand at their gates, on balconies or verandahs at 6am on Saturday April 25. Please join us and the rest of Australia in this special moment to remember all those who have served and sacrificed for this nation. We may not be able to stand together as we usually would, but we can still stand united in spirit. Anyone interested should download the sheet music, start practising and notify their neighbourhood via a letterbox drop. http://musicformateship.org/ #MusicforMateship #ANZACDAY #drivewaytribute #lastpost #Minutesilence #COVID19 #isolatedbutunited

09.01.2022 Some of our musicians have links with Nambour Christian College and the great music program there, so why not support the trivia event later this month?!

08.01.2022 We had two gigs yesterday: the first was a small ensemble with the residents at Diamond Valley Lodge. It's always been a fun and relaxed time at DVL - lots of laughs, singing and even saws!

08.01.2022 More carols! A lovely evening in Caloundra.

06.01.2022 Another angle or two from last night at Montville!

06.01.2022 The 36-strong combined Senior and Just Brass band had a great time playing at Sundale Community Carols in Nambour this evening! A bit warm and smoky, but very glad to be part of the event!

05.01.2022 Some of our crew had a great morning playing tunes at the Aussie World Salvation Army Family Fun Day So good to have such a bunch of our younger players getting involved and doing well!

05.01.2022 We had a wonderful time taking part in the Montville Carols on the Green last night. A great crowd, lots of younger bandspeople and Just Brassies, a lovely evening and lots of Christmas cheer and smiles

04.01.2022 Here's another snippet from our recent 125th celebration concert with Brisbane City Temple Band. The 3rd movement of 'The Kingdom Triumphant' was a wonderful finale to our evening!

04.01.2022 One week after our own 125th celebration concert, Sunshine Brass and 'Bright as Brass' will be playing at Nambour Salvos and showcasing their programs for the upcoming National Band Championships. Two brass concerts in 8 days!

03.01.2022 THE BEST BAND CARTOON EVER ..... it's the one I would have loved to draw.

03.01.2022 We are extremely excited to be sharing with you, the result of our VIRTUAL BAND! 82 participants, 12 countries, and many hours of work to pull it all together -... we hope you like the result. A massive thank you to our good friend Peter Haskew for pulling this all together for us, and a big thank you too, to all those who have participated. It is amazing to see so many people from all over the world all taking part in this. Let us know what you think about our VIRTUAL BAND in the comments!

02.01.2022 Our Christmas Eve caroling included visiting corps folk. First we played for Eric and other residents at Sundale - Eric recently turned 100 and used to play in the corps band! We then visited Burnside and played for Val and other neighbours in the area. It was a really nice way to conclude our caroling engagements in the lead up to Christmas. A huge thanks to all who supported and took part in all the events this year!

02.01.2022 Two events were scheduled tonight for the band. Unfortunately fire activity caused the cancellation of Esk carols, however, the combined Caloundra-Nambour event at Kookaburra Village went ahead - another great evening of Christmas cheer!
