19.01.2022 My wife and I are fans of MasterChef and tonight when Reece left (and pretty much when anyone leaves), it gets all emotional and I end up getting sooky. I asked my wife tonight, "When did I get so invested in these people's lives?" Because that's what I've done. I've got invested three nights a week into these people's lives and I get sad for them. I've learnt about their lives, their families, their businesses and how much they love food. Maybe that's why I'm so investe...d - I love food :). Paul wrote to the Church in 2 Corinthians 8:1-5 1 And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. 2 In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. 5 And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us. The Macedonian Church didn't just want to give money. They wanted to give themselves Paul says in verse 5. They were investing in people's eternities, and their lives right now here on earth. And so I ask myself, am I as invested in the people of Burnside, Nambour, Coes Creek, Woombye, Palmwoods, Bli Bli, Yandina and Coolum and beyond as much as I'm invested in Reynold, Laura, Emilia, Callum and Reece on MasterChef? Do I want to get to know the life stories of all those at Nambour Wesleyan and the people who live in the surrounding suburbs? The answer is yes. So let's get as invested in people's lives as we do our favourite footbaall teams, or tennis players, or chefs on TV so that we can share with them the life saving-eternity saving-Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen?

02.01.2022 Good morning Everyone. Today is International Women's Day. Jesus placed value on women long before our society and even the culture of His own day ever did. People like His mother Mary, the women who saw Him first after His resurrection. Later with Paul and way he valued women in ministry in the Church including Timothy's own mother and grandmother. And then we only have to look back in the Bible to people like Esther and Ruth and so many others. I've already paid tribut...e to some of the women in my life personally. But I want to acknowledge the wonderful women who are part of the Nambour Wesleyan Church family. To avoid embarrassment, I won't name them, but I do want you to know how wonderful you are. All of our women and their families serve so faithfully and are such an integral part of our family including those serving on our Board and in other roles like music ministry, Growth Groups, Missions, Hospitality and so much more. Thank you all and I celebrate you all today, but every day. God bless you all. See more
