25.01.2022 ATTN: MUSOS...FYI... great chance to get your music out there in a great environment. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Surfrider, with Various Artists, First Avenue, Maroochydore, is running a community event over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd June. There are some spaces for local musos if they would like to come down and have a jam at this event. You are welcome to attend either the Saturday (2nd) and/or the Sunday. Anytime between 10am-4pm... each day. This is an art event being held to promote surf, music and our coastal environment. Expected numbers are 200+ each day. There will also be a large media campaign with this event. Sorry short notice. Tiam, from Various Artists would like to get some idea who may be interested by this Monday (30th April). This will mean that they could be listed on the main posters for the event. Tania, from Surfrider is handling all the press and media for the event. Have also included her email for any images or info you would like to pass on so we can promote musos that get involved with the event. Please pass this info onto other musos who might like to come down for the day. Thanks. Kind Regards, Sally Surfrider SC contacts Tiam, Various Artists [email protected] mobile 0410 157 118 Tania, Surfrider marketing/media [email protected]

22.01.2022 Council decides TOMORROW whether our permit is renewed and, if it is, whether the number of events is to be cut in half. We (as many of the team as are free) wi...ll be at the Council Chambers in Tewantin to be present at the meeting to hear the decision. Peregian Beach Surf Club representatives will be joining us. If you are free and interested in supporting us please consider joining us in the gallery at the meeting. These meetings are open to the public: we have every right to be there. Tomorrow's decision will not only affect whether we are able to go ahead with our twice-monthly concerts, but the future of Peregian Beach Surf Club. Imagine a Peregian Beach with no Originals and no Surf Club.... this is closer than you might think. The loss of our event will also affect many other businesses: we know this because they have told us. So PLEASE join us tomorrow if you can. Details in first comment below. Thanks all, Anita See more

14.01.2022 Hello all. Well, if you've been wondering what is happening with Nambour Originals...this it so far. As I have a very busy working life with 'Sunshine Coast Gigs' and no time to organise an event that gives no $ return and to have it cancelled at a rate of over 50% I am stepping down as event manager. Jay, Anita and the team at ECO (East Coast Originals inc) will be looking at ways to 'maybe' keep it afloat and will be letting you know the outcome in time. I would like to th...ank all the people that helped, The amazing Tanis the go getter extraordinair, Mary the tireless raffle queen, Arkin for Arkin and getting Tanis there to go get. Mal and Steve for doing great sound and being flexible when the Raffle takings were low (usually) The awesomely talented artists that performed (for next to no $) The flotilla of barista babes and anyone else that lent a hand...you know who you are. To the people that came, enjoyed, showed your appreciation both verbally and fiscally and generally made it a beautiful place to be on a Sunday afternoon THANK YOU when it happened it was just the best and we all shared something precious, it really was the sight of you people and kids living a beautiful life that fuelled my heart to keep going for two years. To the creative communities division of Council (yes, I'm thanking council) thanks for your support and help (Kim) in getting through the permit application quagmire, that department truly do support these events and are tied (or is that 'tired') by the same bureaucratic crap as everyone. Stay tuned to this site for an ECO update in the future. Warmest Regards Dan And one more thing...To those who go to these types of event and expect it to handed to you on a platter for free...don't wonder why these things come and go..you are a big part of the reason :-( we only ever asked for around the same amount of money as the drink in your hand was costing you. I could say lots more...but Mum said...

08.01.2022 This Sunday instead of just cancelling due to park water retention issues we are going to host the Amazing WOOHOO REVIEW Balkan Gypsies at the Woombye Pub for an afternoon session from 2.30pm. We thought that would be better than just cancelling again as the guys are on tour and that's tough enough without have gigs drop out. It will be a paltry $5 entry over 12yrs and you get a raffle ticket with that and the opportunity to buy more and that will be greatly needed. There is a park over the road for some kiddie energy dispersion and the pub has great food and family atmosphere. Hope to see you all there and please please 'share' this post. This is 'not' a permanent move just keeping the gig for Woohoo.

08.01.2022 Will be giving Nambour Originals a miss this Sunday. With the continual flooding of the park the momentum has waned too much. This is NOT the end and we will be searching for a picnic style venue that doesn't suffer fluid retention. As you can appreciate these events take a fair amount of organising and to have them cancelled so frequently has it's tolerance limits, when we are so busy with other business commitments something has to prioritise. Hopefully a solution is not far off so keep your ears and eyes open for some news. In the meantime have a fun and safe Easter. Dan
