Where starting to see these kids really shine with the bat now. The kids are all taking on board instructions and it’s starting to show on game day. All the key factors are coming into place such as running between wickets, calling loudly and stepping to the ball and sliding the bat. It’s certainly positive to see the kids improving and having fun. Bowling can generally be a bit tougher to learn but the kids are slowly improving. Our fielding is incredibly, 7 direct run outs is enough to put a smile on anyone’s face. A focus at training was backing up throws and I think we nailed it on the field. This week we play at Rosedale so be there by 5pm for a 5:30 start.

17.01.2022 ROUND 7 4THS MATCH REPORT Nambrok 3/195 (40) def Stradbroke 8/111 (28) BATTING:... Paul Brown 55 ret Ross McMIllan 50 ret Phil Knowles 37 ret hurt BOWLING Tiger Chessum 3/18 (5) Mitchell Robinson 2/6 (4) Rohan Knowles 1/16 (4) Paul Moore 1/18 (4) Adam Grey 1/23 (5) FIELDING: Graeme Lord 1 catch & 1 stumping Paul Brown, Mitchell Robinson & Rohan Knowles 1 catch each FULL SCORECARD: http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pag/public/rv/match.aspx MATCH SUMMARY: Warm & Sticky conditions greeted us at Longford as we rolled up to play against Stradbroke. A few late changes earlier in the day meant that we had to do some reshuffling but still had a reasonable side to do the job. Stradbroke won the toss and elected to have a bowl which was good for us considering the conditions. Tiger & a returning Ross walked out to bat. We got off to a reasonable start at Tiger & Ross just knocked the ball around reaching around 30ish when Tigetr was out for 7. Greg came in for a cameo knock of 6 and George fell shortly after for just 1. From there on in we didn't lose another wicket as Ross retired on 50, Browny later on for 55 leaving Pa & Knowlsy to work the ball around and oush the score along nicely. Knowlsy late in the innings unfortunately pulled a hamstring which was a real disappointment for him as he was batting really well. Joey came out for his 200th game and with Pa closed out the innings making 5 with Pa undefeated on 13 giving us a closing total of 195 off our 40 overs. With an imposing total on the board we still did need to get an early breakthrough cause you never know what is going to happen. Ro' did exactly that taking a wicket with the 2nd ball of the innings with a caught & bowled. From there Stradbroke did dig in and pushed their score to 45 before Mitchell got the brteakthrough with a clean bowled then again shortly after. We had to ait a while as Stradbroke dug in yet again and made another 50 before Tiger finally got through to take a wicket with Pa taking a simple catch. Spud got 1 with Browny's aid then Tiger & Mitchell combined to close out the innings with Stradbroke all out for 111. A bit of light heartedness happened as Joey was given a shot in his 200th game to have a bowl and made about 1 over last 3 as he just couldn't get it on the pitch. Next time mate. OVerall a comfortable win and out first one for the season which was really pleasing for us as we've been hovering thereabouts for a while now. So well worth enjoying. Next week sees us on the final leg of our road trip as we travel to Rosedale to play R/K. We always enjoy playing against them and a good contest always ensues. LEts all get to training this week and bring it again on Saturday and try and close the 1st half of the season out with a couple more wins. Best of luck next week and as always... Go Broks! "Charly"

07.01.2022 ROUND 7 3RDS MATCH REPORT Nambrok 5/114 (23.2) def Bundy 111 (33.5) BATTING:... Duane Oldham 34 Lachlan Hardy 24 Jeff Curran 19 BOWLING: Lachlan Hardy 5/20 (8) Dan Cormack 3/18 (3.5) FIELDING: Duane Oldham 2 stumpings Jeff Curran, Phil Sheilds & Karthik Bakulapalli 1 catch each FULL SCORECARD: http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pag/public/rv/match.aspx MATCH SUMMARY: This week saw us stay at home for another week as we welcomed old foes Bundy to Hawk park for what is usually a highly competitive contest as they always have been in the past. Despite some late changes with Brenton dropping out late due to work commitments & Sandeep also unavailable so Karthik & Joffa came up to shore up the numbers in the top side. On what was an excellent batting pitch Bundy won the toss and elected to have a bat in the sticky conditions. Azza & Haydos toiled away with the pill early on and just couldn't get the breatkthrough we needed so it was time to switch the bowlers up with Lachie & Robbo taking over. LLachie got right amongst it getting out first wicket with the score on 39 then snagging another 2 and when Robbo got another wicket then Lachie again and Bundy were in real trouble at 6/76 with Lachie taking 5 and cleaning up the top and middle order woth great bowling. John and Possum then combined taking the 4 remaining wickets leaving Bundy all out for 111 after 33 overs. Possum bowling precise taking 3 wickets late and Johnny 1 as well. We needed a solid start as Bundy were going to come at us hard to turn this one around. Duane & Sheildsy opening proceedings this week. We did lose an early wicket as Sheildsy was the first to fall for 4. But Lachie & Duane put on a 48 run partnership for the 2nd wicket before Lachie was out for 24. Another 28 run stand with Duane & Joffa moved the score to 84 before Joff was out for 19. Duane fell shortly after for a good knock of 34. Robbo was out with the score on 103 for just 8 but by then it was nearly academic as Kiwi & Azza saw us over the line to win by 5 wickets with 16 overs remaining. An impressive win with Lachie being the standout taking 5 wickets and 24 runs to really set the tone. But as always kudos to the team for the performance. Next weeks game sees us stay at home for another week as we welcome Sale to Hawk Park in what will be an etnertaining contest to be sure. With only 2 games left before the mid-season break it's important that we continue to win a try and lockdown a top 4 spot. Until next week, lets as always hit the track hard and come out Saturday swinging and get another win on the board, the team's playing well so lets get behind them. Best of luck next week and as always... Go Broks!! "Charly"
07.01.2022 ROUND 6 4TH XI MATCH REPORT Nambrok 131 (38.1) lost to Wurruk 6/133 (38.1) BATTING:... Phil Knowles 39 Paul Brown 25 Gareth Davies 23 BOWLING: Rohan Knowles 2/9 (6) Brenton Hewish 1/20 (6) Gareth Davies 1/28 (8) FIELDING: Jeff Curran & Tiger Chessum 1 catch each Rohan Knowles & Graeme Lord 1 run out (assist) Karthik Bakulapalli 1 run out (direct) FULL SCORECARD: http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pag/public/rv/match.aspx MATCH SUMMARY: This week saw us travel into Wurruk to play them on their home ground. The side had some minor adjustments with Karthik coming in for his first game for the club and Kiwi coming down to play as well. We won the toss and elected to bat. Tiger & Joffa opened proceedings but sadly didn't get the start theyb wanted as Joffa fell for 1 & Tiger for just 2 leaving us 2/10 early on. George & Browny batted for a bit before George was out for 6, Kiwi & Browny batted next and pushed the score to 55 before Kiwi was out for 23, Karthik was next out for 7 then Browny for 25. Pa & Knowlsy moved the score up to 103 before Pa was out for 2. Swampy made the same total & Ro' was out for 4. Brenton & Knowlsy got the score to 131 before Knowlsy was finally out for 39 in a solid display with the bat. Brenton not out for 2. 131 was going to be a task but we were sure we could do it. But we needed a good start to do so with the pill. We did get 3 early wickets with Wurruk 3/28 with Brenton & Ro taking 1 each and Karthik scoring a run out. From there however Wurruk put on 40 for the 4th wicket before Joffa took a catch of Kiwi's bowling, but once again Wurruk rebounded to move their score to 87 before Ro' & Pa combined for a run out to keep out chances alive. But that was about it as they got to 131 to tie up the score before Knowlsy got a wicket, but from there it was just academic as they passed the total with 3 wickets in hand and 11 balls spare. Another close one slipped through our fingers as we just didn't take the opportunities in key moments which is a pity. But once again next week is another opportunity for us as we head out to Longford to play Stradbroke. Opportunities await for us and we know we're not far off claiming our first win. Lets see what next week brings. Until then, lets get to training and bring it on Saturday. So until then best of luck during the week and as always... Go Broks! "Charly"

01.01.2022 MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENT 200 GAMES! This week marks another achievement for one of our cricketing bretheren as Joey Stoddart notches up his 200th game for the club. Joey joined Nambrok in the 99/2000 season in the lower grade. I've had the pleasure of playing alongside him for a lot of those years and also being captain with him playing under me. You wouldn't find another more likeable and kind person ever. He's passionate and gives his very best every game he's played in and yo...u couldn't ask for more as a player & captain. Joey has served as a committee member in the past and continues as a part time player when his work commitments allow. Distance hasn't stopped him either as he's travelled well over an hour at times just to make games from the mid-Gippsland region. Tremendous dedidcation. Joey, from one mate to another I'm going to enjoy playing with you tomorrow and regardless of whatever happens you are an example of a clubman through and through. Congratulations on your milestone and may you have a blinder. Congratulations again and all the best for tomorrow. "Charly"
