At this camp students had an opportunity for hands on activities delivered by TAFE that would help enhance their employment skills and future career pathways. The students really enjoyed their learning and participated in activities such as plumbing, automotive, designing, sport and fitness as well as learning dance, language and art delivered by Gumbaynggirr community members.

22.01.2022 On Thursday the 12th of November NHHS entered a 14s and 16s boys Rugby League team in the NRL 9 aside Gala day held at Geoff King Motors Park in Coffs Harbour. All the boys represented NHHS with distinction on the day, not only showing the skill, courage and toughness required to play Rugby League but also exceptional sportsmanship throughout the day. Each team played 5 games which was a big ask in the hot and windy conditions. The 14s boys won 4 out of their 5 games convinci...ngly and were competitive in their only loss against a well drilled and extremely big South Grafton team. It's hard to pick standout performers as the whole squad was outstanding, however, special mention must go to Josh Monoghan, who dominated in the forwards in his first ever game of Rugby League. The team was also well led by Toby Batten and Lystan Scott, Renzzo Sulton and Jake Duckett were excellent throughout the day. The 16s team was undermanned but fought hard to win one game out of the five they played. They were competitive in all their games and never gave up despite having to have players from the 14s squad step up to provide an interchange bench and give them a well deserved rest when necessary. Special mentions go to Will Batten, Jonah Edwards and Nelson Langley who were phenomenal all day. Dom Lambie impressed in his first ever game of Rugby league and the side bravely supported by Liston Scott, Renzzo Sulton and Jake Duckett from the 14s side. Special thanks to Tim Williams and Kane Munsie who helped manage and coach the teams on the day.

21.01.2022 Today our Year 9 students had an online visit from Olympic diver Declan Stacey from the Australian Olympic Team to deliver the Olympics Unleashed program. Declan visited our school in person last year as he prepared for the 2020 Olympics which were postponed due to COVID 19. The games will hopefully go ahead in Tokyo next year where Declan will vie for a medal in the 10m platform synchronised event. Today Declan inspired our students by talking about his own personal journey including setbacks and inevitable injury but above all his message is that if you have goals and show commitment and be resilient, anything is achievable. We wish Declan all the best on his journey towards Tokyo 2021. #OlympicsUnleashed
