22.01.2022 Always look on the BRIGHT side of life Venerable Master Hsing Yuns New Years couplet for 2020 is, "Every Journey in This World is a Path to Happiness." 21.01.2022 Remember YOUR Bodhi nature! This statue is of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva. She is the Bodhisattva of Great Mercy and Compassion. Kuan means to see, and Yin to hear, peoples crys for help. She can be depicted in many ways but in the Temples Front Shrine she is seen as having 1000 eyes and hands. The symbolism represents her having1000 eyes to see everybody and then 1000 hands to help them. The aura behind her has tiny little carvings of hands with an eye in the centre.... Because of Kuan Yins great compassion and mercy, many Buddhists look to her in times of distress. However, it is important to remember that the resilience required to overcome hardships and adversity are within you right now. Kuan Yin inspires us to reach within and to show compassion for both ourselves and each other. Have a wonderful weekend. Amituofo

THANK YOU so much to St Agnes Catholic High School who recently participated in a webinar with Reverend Zhi Li. These Yr 11 students are studying Buddhism and were interested in the role of its sacred texts. Reverend Zhi Li spoke about the Lotus Sutra an...d its significance within Chinese Mahayana and Humanistic Buddhism Their teacher very kindly provided us with the following feedback: We are very thankful for the insights we learnt and know that although we are only beginners in Buddhist studies, our knowledge of other religious worldviews has been opened and for this our learning in class has become so much more meaningful. If you think your school may be interested in conducting a webinar, please email [email protected]
