05.01.2022 So lucky to be caring for two lovely littlies with this view from the deck.

02.01.2022 I just want to remind parents that you are in fact everything your children need. They can learn mathematics by cooking, the can learn english, literacy, creativity and collaboration through putting on plays or writng stories. They will learn patience and resilience by being at home and most of all they will feel an extra dose of love from spending more time with you. For parents that still continue to work, they will learn what it means to be courageous, gain a sense of com...munity, financial responsibility and again love. My children have spent a little more time on electronics than usual (but taught me the skills necessary to survive in those games, something I showed no interest in before) a little less time playing with friends but more time playing family games, and perhaps less time on traditional education lately. However they can now cook, have taken over more of the housework, have become more financially responsible and more importantly have learnt to stop, be still (embrace boredom and create imagination) and become leaders of their learning. It will feel like a long time but 12 months from now, if we allow it, this experience will make us all better human beings. See more

01.01.2022 With many children back at school it has given me time to really reflect on the past few months. I had been home with my four since February and often as parents we become so busy trying to get everything done that although we feel greatly blessed to have our children and grateful beyond words, we don't stop long enough to really be present and acknowledge that blessing in that moment. I have been so fortunate to have had conversations with my children and to have listened to them sharing things with me that they would normally not have shared, given they are at school most of the time. I hope you have all adjusted back into or remained in your daily rhythm. I know I am very much looking forward to welcoming back some littlies this week so with that, it is time to make kinetic sand :)
