02.01.2022 SENSORY PLAY RECIPES So many good ones! Grab them here: https://mailchi.mp/89e346c118ac/sensoryrecipes

02.01.2022 As some of Australia is coming into their warmer months don't forget to SLIP into some sun protective clothing SLOP on some 30+ or more sunscreen at least 20 minute before exposure and then every 2 hours thereafter SLAP on a broad brimmed hat SEEK shade... SLIDE on some sunnies And check out the UV index for advice! Even the cloudy days can surprise you. My favourite app for this is the SunSmart app where you can even set up your own sunscreen profile!

01.01.2022 How to put on a bandage: If someone has hurt themselves and you need to apply a bandage, here are some key things to remember. Reassure them and explain what ...youre going to do Make them comfortable, help them sit or lie down Support the injury, hold the limb, or ask them or someone else to help Start bandaging from the front and the side of the body or limb thats injured Apply bandages firmly but not so tight that it restricts circulation Wrap the bandage using spiral turns working from the inside to the outside of the limb For joint injuries, make diagonal turns in a figure-of-eight above and below the joint. See below for specific techniques. Leave fingers and toes peeking out so you can press them to check the circulation Use pins or tape to fasten roller bandages, otherwise, tuck the bandage in as securely as you can. Use reef knots to tie triangular bandages: right over left and under, then left over right and under. Check their circulation by pressing one of their fingers or toenails for five seconds until it goes pale. If the colour doesnt come back within two seconds, the bandage is too tight so youll need to loosen it and do it again. Check their circulation every ten minutes.
