08.01.2022 Topic of the day FOOD I feel as a breeder I would have a discussion with everyone regarding the diets of their kittens cats when they collect them from their breeders.... THE BIGGEST NO NO ... I see this far too often when someone takes their new kitten home and its that new owners believe they are doing a great thing by swapping their kittens food to something new...SOMETHING MORE PREMIUM.....NOOOOOO YOU ARE NOT!!!!! Essentially you are going to make your kitten sick and may even cause death! Yes I said death... Your new kitten has usually been raised on a well balanced, healthy diet, consisting of a premium kibble(biscuit dry) and a well balanced wet diet like a raw meat, boiled chicken breast etc.... obviously whiskas is not a good option... If you change their food straight over and don't slowly introduce the new food mixed with the old food you will cause an upset tummy, which leads to diahreah, vomiting and inflammation of the stomach and intestines, which if not treated correctly can lead to twisted intestines and again death. So pleassseee I can not express this enough JUST LISTEN TO YOUR BREEDER and what they have advised to feed, I have had kittens leave me, go to their new homes and get extremely sick and yes die all because new owners thought they knew what was best... clearly they didn't
