14.01.2022 Santa run 2020 Hi Folks the brigade is still doing a santa run this year, but with Covid restrictions we ask that children do not approach the truck for their and our safety. Any treats not caught can children not pick them up till after the truck leaves. Any child with food allergies tht would still like a treat if parents could place athe treat in box at Napoleons shop with childs name and address attached prior to 6pm xmas eve. The big red truck will start in Napoleons School carpark at 6.30 and then head to the estates at 6.45pm. Exact times are hard to predict so listen out for the siren.

13.01.2022 Yeah the girls! Women within CFA are inspiring their peers, their family, their communities and setting the example that we are a more powerful force when... we work together without bias. This International Women’s Day we’re celebrating the amazing role models who are enabling a stronger future for our next generation of women in emergency services. #EachForEqual See more
13.01.2022 We all need some good news right now, and this is just in from the NSW Rural Fire Service The RFS have been fighting fires for more than 240 days. EDIT: The F...ires Near Me app still shows some fires however this is the explanation from the RFS. "Until fires are fully extinguished and out (the RFS) remain on the site - and the (fires) that are there still have small signs of activity - so they are considered controlled but are still being patrolled. So they are not regarded as 'active' but are not ready to be removed from the site yet because they're still being patrolled."
12.01.2022 With the restrictions due to the covid-19 virus the State championships have been postponed. Our Juniors were so ready for this competition but they will just have to wait a little and get better for when the competition is bck on. Keep up the good work guys and gals!
11.01.2022 Just a reminder that the district is still under fire restrictions, and no burn offs are allowed.
10.01.2022 Happy mother's day to all the mums that lets us go fight fires and to those mums that help put them out.
10.01.2022 Farmers have began burning of stubble for farming purposes. These burn offs require permits and they must comply with strict conditions. You are not aloud to bu...rn off if you have no permit. We and other brigades have been responded to a number of illegal burns in the last week. Reminder that fire restrictions are still in force. 09.01.2022 Plus change your smoke alarm batteries.
08.01.2022 As a result of a recent severe weather event, the Cobaw State Forest and Wombat State Forest has been temporarily closed to the public to reduce the risk posed ...by falling trees. This closure will allow our crews to clear tracks and roads in the forests and complete hazardous tree stabilisation works. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we will let you know when the forests reopen. For additional information about road and track closures visit: https://www.ffm.vic.gov.au/visitin/forest-and-road-closures
08.01.2022 Dear community, With advice from the CFA, yesterday our brigade made the decision to suspend all non-essential activities including brigade training, meetings and community engagement activities until further notice due to the current situation with the COVID-19 Coronavirus. Rest assured, we will still be responding to all emergency calls as per normal. This step was taken to limit potential exposure to our members.... Our aim is to keep our members healthy so we can maintain an operational response to our community when and if required. If you are in the unfortunate situation that you need to call the brigade to your property and you have a suspected or confirmed case of Coronavirus or are in self isolation please inform the 000 operator and advise us ASAP on our arrival. If you call for our assistance we will still be there as needed. Thank you for your understanding.
07.01.2022 Santa is on the way. At Napoleon's carpark now.
07.01.2022 TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Weather Warning for DAMAGING WINDS For people in South West and parts of Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East, West and South Gippsland and Wimmera Forecast Districts.... Issued at 4:19 pm Sunday, 6 June 2021. POTENTIAL DAMAGING WINDS LATER ON MONDAY OVER SOUTHERN AND ALPINE AREAS Plan Image Weather Situation: A vigorous cold front developing over the Bight will direct strong and gusty northerly winds over Victoria on Monday before it crosses the state during Monday night. DAMAGING NORTHERLY WINDS, averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are possible over southwest Victoria, the central ranges, and the northeast ranges from early MONDAY AFTERNOON. Damaging winds will become more likely during the evening ahead of the front, and will extend to parts of Central Victoria. Winds are expected to ease in the west later on Monday evening, then ease in central and northeastern areas early on Tuesday morning as the cold front crosses the state. Locations which may be affected include Hamilton, Warrnambool, Portland, Kyneton, Ballarat and Wonthaggi. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. Avoid travel if possible. * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. * Be aware - heat, fire or recent storms may make trees unstable and more likely to fall when it's windy or wet. * Check that loose items, such as outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured. Move vehicles under cover or away from trees. * Stay indoors and away from windows. * If outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks and waterways. * Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live. * Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks. Heavy rainfall may also increase the potential for landslides and debris across roads. * Stay informed: Monitor weather warnings, forecasts and river levels at the Bureau of Meteorology website, and warnings through VicEmergency website/app/hotline. The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AEST Sunday.
07.01.2022 May 4th is International Firefighters Day & also the feast day of St Florian, the Patron Saint of Firefighters. St Florian was the first known Commande...r of one Firefighting squad in the Roman Empire. He lost his life, as well as those of his colleagues, for protecting the same humane ideas which Firefighters all over the world share even today. Happy International Firefighters Day & to Firefighters everywhere stay safe! Pete Learmonth
