20.01.2022 18th November 2020 Dear parent/caregiver, Today the Premier announced a 6 day statewide lockdown starting at midnight tonight (Wednesday 18 November) through to midnight Tuesday 24 November. Only the children of essential workers and vulnerable children will be able to attend school or preschool / child care. A skeleton staff will provide supervision but not a learning program for the remainder of this week. If your child needs to attend, we will be here for them.... All students have been asked to take home school laptops/devices, books and anything they need to continue their learning from home. More information on learning programs will be provided early next week, as we work our way through the new COVID-19 Directions. All South Australians are making sacrifices to ensure our community remains as safe as possible. We appreciate that this is a significant undertaking for you and your family. Your child’s teacher, our support staff and I are here to support you where we can. Regards, Rob Jeffries

19.01.2022 At Napperby we recognise individuals and their needs to be successful. Here Daphne is demonstrating her artistic talents and problem solving skill to create a figurine that can hold a pen. She is developing critical thinking, ICT, mathematical thinking in the designing process. While working with an SSO, Daphne is also building on her literacy skills in communication, procedures and language features through the creation of a tutorial video for her Tails doll. This task is individualised for Daphme to be successful and present her understanding of traditional educational skills in a way that reflects her as a learner.

03.01.2022 20/11/2020 Dear parent/caregiver, The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November. ... As a result our school and preschool will be open and operating as normal. We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program. As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site. Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults. As a result of the uncertainness of the current situation we have decided to cancel our school concert which was scheduled for Friday 27th November. We will provide more information on Year 6 transition and Year 6 and preschool graduations in the coming days. Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. We look forward to having your child back on Monday. Regards, Rob Jeffries Principal
03.01.2022 We Shall Remember Them Today, we walked to Napperby Memorial Hall so that students and staff could pay their respects to our local and national heroes past and present. We placed handmade poppies and wreaths at the plaque next to Napperby's very special Lone Pine. This pine tree was propagated from the original Lone Pine from the battle of Gallipoli. Some of our Upper Primary students were invited to attend the Remembrance Day ceremony at the World War 1 gates along with other students from Port Pirie. The veterans and members then invited them back to the RSL for lunch and a walk around the RSL museum.

Most of all grateful for the sense of community we shared with families, students and staff.

The Junior and Middle Primary Classes enjoyed the story immensely
