19.01.2022 Remember a while back I stated that my children's school gave lollies as rewards? My 7 yo daughter is SRC this semester so she is tackling the lolly issue head on and after a discussion last night on what is the best reward for teachers to give she will be reading out the following today at her first SRC meeting :) "I don’t think that students should be given lollies and toys for a reward in the classroom.... Lollies are bad for you and the money spent on lollies and the little treats in the treasure boxes could be used to give a reward in a different way. There must be a lot of money being spent by all the teachers in junior primary on rewards. Instead of giving rewards this way what about instead the junior primary sponsored a child who is poor and our reward will be that we are helping save another child from poverty or helping them go to school. Helping another person is more rewarding than lollies and better for our health and heart." <3
