23.01.2022 Do you remember your first animal taken with a bow? .... Im sure @neata_hunt_ride_fish will! Well after nearly 12 months of shooting a bow I got my first kill. The emotion of it all.... there are no words. But the adrenaline of the stalk and releasing that killing shot was just incredible. 22.01.2022 We've all been there at some stage.... @on.the.hunt4 losing a good hog knowing the shot was on. I got a cracker the other day mate with your arrows and the old 3 blade broadheads you have. I was sure of the shot and thought it was on the money. I was in a big cane grass swamp so he took off and disappeared straight away. Headed off in his direction and found some good blood and started looking but it got thinner and thinner and my brother heard some more pigs up further so he... wanted to go so we left him. 22.01.2022 The end to a pretty amazing weekend! Spent 2 nights away with @tristah_allen, @ace_179 and his dad checking out their on stomping ground South of home and wow hasnt the drought taken its toll here like all the other hunting spots I've been to. Once a property that held numerous wild game now has nothing! But not all was lost its just always great being bush doing what we love. Once I got home and packed away I decided to head North and check another spot where I knew a few pi...gs have been trafficking a bit, checked the usual spots and again nothing to be seen as if they'd just up and moved out. Last ditch effort I headed for the river just on dark and seen this guy rooting around the foliage from 30 or so meters. I managed to find a shooting lane and let this bloke have it from the new @bowtecharchery Revolt X i received just 2 days before I left and didn't it do the job! 21.01.2022 This was a case of mistaken identity! As @belindaa_robinson and I were setting up some game cameras around a good wallow we noticed some pigs moving along a pad so I sent Belinda off to follow them up whilst I put the camera in place. As I walked up out of the creek I noticed movement to my left and thru the long grass seen a few pigs coming under a pop hole in the fence. It may have taken sleepless nights talking to many different manufacturing factories both well known and not however there is more to carbon than what most people realise. Shot him at 25m dropped him on the spot and broadhead went no where near his spine. Not to sure what it hit but did a internal investigation on him to check. 01.01.2022 Story by @shanethompson94 Text book is the word, it doesn’t happen often but when it does you take full advantage of it..... Plenty of pigs have being hitting the deck but just nothing of a decent caliber to share of late. This fella soon changed that being the best pig I’ve seen in a fair then we spotted a dead cow pretty high up. Not being to far out of our way we decided to check it out for the owner and give them a ear tag number of her. As we neared her location the pig... sign rapidly picked up and soon could see the pigs had been into her pretty well so the next point of call was the trees surrounding her. We ran the Binos through what where we thought a pig might be bedded with no luck til I spotted a pretty decent little pad heading from the cow to a dam below us. We eased down to the dam where there was a little bit of timber bordering it and to my luck raised the Binos straight onto this boar asleep in the sun under a tree. Quickly dropped the pack to get into shooting distance as the wind hadn’t been on our side. Slowly edging my way down the mountain I was soon 17 yards with the only shot being a really tight quartering away shot. A small shadow marked the exact spot I had in mind and soon jammed a Naptyme smack down 300 with a 150g naptyme 2 blade in the exact spot. The boar made a quick 80 yard dash down the hill and was all over! This fella is full of characters and has had his run in with a few dogs by the looks, no teeth and fresh fight marks; a true mountain boar warrior in my eyes!
