25.01.2022 SOCCER CARNIVAL PROGRAM CHOCK-A-BLOCK! The program is out for this Sunday's Limestone Coast Multicultural Soccer Carnival at Naracoorte & District Sports Ce...ntre! It's jam packed full of action from the opening ceremony at 9am to the presentations at 4pm. The draw is still being tweaked, but there will be more than 50 games of soccer played in men's, women's and junior divisions. There will also be two free MiniRoos sessions led by Football SA coaches to give children aged 4-10 an introduction to the world game of soccer in a fun, inclusive environment. Bookings for the sessions will be taken on the day. Thanks again to our event partners Naracoorte Lucindale Council, Naracoorte United Soccer Club, the Australian Migrant Resource Centre, Teys Australia, Football South Australia, the Limestone Coast Multicultural Network and Sttars. 19.01.2022 CANCELLATION OF 2020 MEGAFEST NARACOORTE WORLD HERITAGE TRAIL RUN Due to the latest COVID-19 updates and restrictions from the State Government, t...he decision has been made to cancel the 2020 MegaFest Naracoorte World Heritage Trail Run scheduled to be held at the Naracoorte Caves this Sunday (22 November). The decision has been made based on: State Government directions that recreational events such as this shouldn’t proceed; State Government general advice that all unnecessary travel should not occur; Significant numbers of Trail Run event registrations coming from Adelaide. From a community perspective, it has been deemed logical to not increase the risk to our community in having people travel from COVID hotspots to our community and region for such an event. Consideration was given to deferring this event, but that became problematic for the Trail Run being held in December. The community’s safety is of paramount importance and remains our priority.

08.01.2022 SOCCER CARNIVAL KICKS GOALS! It was hot and windy, but yesterday's second successive Limestone Coast Multicultural Soccer Carnival at Naracoorte & District ...Sports Centre was a resounding success! Nineteen men's, women's and U12 teams from throughout the Limestone Coast played more than 50 games across seven pitches. All continents except Antarctica were represented in the cultural backgrounds of the players from Naracoorte, Bordertown, Mount Gambier and Millicent. Multicultural tasting plates were devoured at lunchtime with mouth-watering dishes generously prepared by Afghan, Malaysian, Thai and Lao community members from Naracoorte and Bordertown, and event partners Teys Australia were just as giving, providing a scrumptious barbecue. Carnival goers were also kept fuelled by The Coffee Pitt, argentiniandelights, the local soft-serve icecream van and the Naracoorte United Soccer Club canteen. Team winners on the day were Mount Gambier North Primary School in the U12s, Wasted Talent from Naracoorte in the women's division and Hope United from Mount Gambier in the hotly-contested men's division. The U12s also enjoyed training sessions led by Football South Australia coaches first up in the morning before the day's competition got underway. A massive thank you to everyone from the organising committee for a fabulous day celebrating a diverse and harmonious Australia and event partners Naracoorte Lucindale Council, Naracoorte United Soccer Club, the Australian Migrant Resource Centre, Teys Australia, Football South Australia, the Limestone Coast Multicultural Network and Sttars. Check out our photo gallery from yesterday and stay tuned for the album of stunning images captured by Adrian Gale, of The Chapel Studio - Photography, of Naracoorte.
