24.01.2022 Check out this great article from NBN Australia about one of our clients, Jim Barry Wines. Together we’ve worked hard to add flexibility and resilience via technology and processes into the business, and the proof is in their ability to pivot for COVID-19 isolation and come back in a strong way. Cheers We're looking forward to the next challenges! ... https://www.nbnco.com.au//online-wine-jim-barry-turns-to-v #innovation #resilience #businessprocess #nbn #nardesign #jimbarry #clarevalley #clarevalleysa

22.01.2022 Microsoft login issue happening now. Please be patient while this is resolved.

22.01.2022 #todaysoffice parked up and on the phone to a supplier, scrabbling for #eofy stock for last minute client buys. Normally I would head for the passenger seat, but today for a change of scenery I went the back seat. What a choice it was! Feet outstretched and laptop in position, enjoying the dappled sunshine. Who can guess where I am?... #laptoplifestyle #mobileoffice #nardesign #clarevalley

21.01.2022 More beautiful Clare Valley autumn weather as we prepare for the SAVIC Conference at the Clare Country Club next week Great to be working with Blue Goanna Digital again in #todaysoffice! #nardesign #clarevalley

21.01.2022 Another beautiful winter day travelling the mid north of South Australia. Microsoft 365 migrations for a family farm business near Spalding today, ensuring multifactor authentication (MFA) is enforced on all accounts for security. Then enjoying the backroads to Saddleworth via Mintaro and Manoora for another client visit. ... #todaysoffice #countryroads #microsoft365 #nardesign #clarevalley

20.01.2022 Caught the sunset in Adelaide today a stark contrast to the usual Clare Valley beauty. #todaysoffice #peakhour #nardesign

18.01.2022 Telling stories of connectivity and providing answers to the nbn Local Regional Roundtable for the Federal Barker electorate with people checking in from across the country. In South Australia there will be Business Fibre Zones in Mount Gambier, Renmark and Murray Bridge great news for these communities! This means that the cost of fibre to business with NBN is the same as for CBDs in capital cities, providing opportunities for business to grow and larger businesses to open... branch offices in regional areas. Thanks Jill from NBN Australia for the opportunity to share the message of connectivity with these communities and Stu from Blue Goanna Digital for the real world experience of his NBN success story. Thanks also to Tony Pasin MP for his passionate introduction - and for getting me back on track! #connectivity #nbn #community #consulting #todaysoffice #mountgambier #renmark #murraybridge #nardesign #bluegoanna

15.01.2022 Sharing the knowledge as well as the meeting with Stu from Blue Goanna Digital at the NBN Regional Roundtable - Far North SA this morning. Thanks to Jill from NBN Australia for inviting me to present in my role as NBN Business Accredited Advisor and provide some independent, real world examples and solutions. Stu Nankivell presented his journey of connectivity as a creator of digital media from driving hard drives of content across the country to being able to leverage cloud ...storage such as Dropbox for client delivery. The wide ranging discussion encompassed all of the buzzwords connectivity, the internet, collaboration, cloud storage and applications, security and more with participants across the country including the outback town of William Creek. Thanks to Meg from The Journey Studio - Art by Meg Mader for providing #todaysoffice Today's mantra? Connectivity opens the door to business opportunities! #microsoftteams #nardesign #clarevalley

14.01.2022 Beautiful day to a walk to a job. Laptop in hand, walking Spring Gully Road to Eldredge Wines to resolve a problem with a smile on my face. What a great way to bring in the new financial year after the craziness of yesterday.... #lovewhereyoulive #shoplocalclare #eldredgewines #nardesign #clarevalleysa

13.01.2022 Another great Regional Roundtable event presenting for NBN Local this time with the Adelaide Hills region. Fantastic to see that Mount Barker is now listed as a Business Fibre Zone allowing upgrades to Enterprise Ethernet and the benefits that a fast, symmetrical, uncontended connection can bring to business. Great Q&A from the participants. I’m proud to have quoted Scotty from Star Trek when discussing Fixed Wireless issues: Ya canna’ change the laws of physics!, even if... my Scottish accent was a little off! Thanks Jill from NBN Australia for inviting me to present and Stu Nankivell from Blue Goanna Digital as always for your relatable stories of small business success with connectivity. I’m looking forward to working more with business and industry groups to educate on the connectivity options, efficiencies and benefits across the state. #adelaidehills #mountbarker #bluegoanna #nardesign

08.01.2022 Companies requesting personal information when they call you is straight out of the scammer handbook. I thought I'd detail the process that I went through today with Qantas - comments and suggestions welcome! -- QANTAS Frequent Flyer acts like a scammer Times have changed a bit and we aren’t flying so much anymore, but those pesky frequent flyer points keep adding up. So, what to do? Redeem them and document how Qantas trains you to give away personal details to scammers... With the purchase complete, Qantas then calls to confirm the order. Because they can’t call from the 1300 number, it comes from an 02 number that isn’t published. As with any scammer, they announce themselves as some reputable company like Qantas and then proceed to ask for your identity to confirm the order. When you refuse to identify yourself and state that you don't provide your personal details to cold callers, they send an email with contact details. The next cyber security lesson is provided when the contact phone number in the email is different to the contact phone number on their website and looks like a poorly executed phishing email. After calling the number published on the website and going through a dozen announcements of Thank you for your patience, your call has progressed in the queue and will be answered shortly, you explain the reason for your call to the operator who confirms the order but doesn’t really get it until I asked for their mother’s maiden name and date of birth. They refuse, but it starts to sink in. It isn’t their fault that the process is wrong. So while the Qantas store enforces some good security including MFA for account login, they are teaching everyone they call that providing personal information to an inbound caller on a number that you don’t know is ok. Don’t give your identity away to scammers. So why would I spend time writing about my experience on Facebook instead of trying to fix the problem? Well, this isn't just a Qantas problem but after trying to deal with this via calls and emails over multiple purchases in the last few years, it felt like time. How to solve the problem? I know that this post won't change the Qantas Frequent Flyer purchase process, but hopefully it adds to available information around identity security. Here are some ideas: Make people aware. Never give personal information to cold callers. Report processes like this to the companies involved. Tell your friends and family. Audit your online information. #qantas #qantasff #identitytheft #cybersecurity #infosec #phishing

02.01.2022 Checking out copper landline options with Telstra for a client as Aussie Broadband don’t do these anymore. (If you are in an NBN Satellite or Fixed Wireless area you can still have a copper landline - for now...) Apparently Telstra is taking the Henry Ford approach to options on plans you can have any plan with any options that you like as long as it is Our ultimate phone plan. Do you want fries with that?... Props for anyone that can link to a different offer. Anyone??? #telcofrustration #nardesign

02.01.2022 So, I guess there aren’t as many people using Telstra mobile data around the Adelaide CBD at the moment?
