24.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and the ongoing contributions they make to Australian society. This also encourages everyone to take pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, their strengths and their connection to culture. It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliati...on in Australia. NRW is book-ended by two significant dates that all Australians can be proud of the anniversaries of the successful 1967 Referendum* (May 27th) and the High Court Mabo land rights decision* (June 3rd) *27th May is the anniversary of the historic 1967 Referendum, where Australians voted to amend two parts of the Constitution that excluded Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The 1967 vote was the highest ever yes vote in a Referendum - some people say it was the most unifying moment in our history. *3rd June is the anniversary of the 1992 landmark High Court Mabo decision, which rejected terra nullius ('land belonging to no one') and recognised First Nations people as traditional custodians of Australia for the first time. The Mabo Decision legally and symbolically acknowledged the truth and changed the way we all think about Australia's history.

24.01.2022 The nursery is full! We have new stock , healthy plants grown on site. Expert advice from our Horticulturist and Propagation expert. Organic veggies and herbs plus Lyns amazing Chutneys. Yellow Monkey coffee will be here and please enjoy a stroll through our gardens.

Most of our garden plants sell for $5.50 so come and get some healthy plants for a great price. Our Horticulturist is here to answer your gardening inquiries and our wonderful volunteers will be on hand to help. ... Come and support our Not for Profit enterprise supporting people with a disability to engage with our community We will be following Covid 19 safety, social distancing, max of twenty in the nursery, sign in and use hand sanitiser. Hoping to have the coffee van here and the gardens are open if you would like to go for an inspirational stroll!

Our Horticulturist is here to answer all your garden questions and our friendly volunteers will be here to lend a hand. 07.01.2022 These are our two vegetable gardens. The raised garden beds are part of our Skills Campus Gardening Programme. and there is a fenced in ground vegetable garden in the background. Our clients learn gardening skills here and grow a variety of herbs and vegetables for sale or to use for their cooking classes.The large in ground one was started late last year by our volunteer Mike and he grows a wonderful range of vegetables using organic practices. On SATURDAY JUNE 20th Mike wi...ll be volunteering and selling vegetables PICKED FRESH FROM THE GARDEN! You pick what you want and Mike will pick it there and then- how fresh is that. Please feel free to have a yarn to Mike about how he has produced such a wonderful vegetable patch.We will also be selling packed fresh herbs from our Skills campus Garden, these will be available from the checkout point. 02.01.2022 I thought I would post our "Every 3rd Saturday" calendar again. Also to remind everyone that we are open Mon-Thur 8am-2pm. You are welcome to come out on a Friday but I am the only person here on a Friday and could be anywhere on the grounds! I usually seem to catch most people but would hate to disappoint anyone. The new nursery will probably be open six days a week but until then hours are as posted.
