24.01.2022 Dear Families, its amAzing how many children I get daily who are unable to read larger numbers. I know this video is extremely long but I really implore you to watch it with your children and to quiz them afterwards! Actually quiz them before and you will be so surprised at how many of them cannot read numbers larger than 1000 properly. This is obviously just not something that is focused on at school in my recent experience and I really believe that it is vital! So please let me know how you go with this video!

04.01.2022 Today I would like to discuss how important corrections are and why at Kumon Narellan we insist that every set is marked and corrected! We learn from our mistakes and the only way we can do so is by correcting them! Corrections Once the worksheets are marked, your child makes any corrections, on their own, until all answers are correct. They should find the specific place where they made the mistake, and erase and correct only the part of the answer that is incorrect. It is... best if corrections are done as soon as possible, but definitely before commencing the next day’s worksheets. It is more efficient for your child to make corrections while worksheet content is fresh in their mind. They learn from corrections and are less likely to repeat the same mistake on the next worksheets. Never criticise or scold your child for errors. Making errors and then correcting them is a fundamental feature of the Kumon learning method. Rather, praise your child for doing their corrections and eventually achieving 100 percent on their worksheets. Taken from
