23.01.2022 Narndee News: Good morning! Narndee has been very busy with lots of comings and goings. Backpackers have moved on except Alek who is staying on for awhile longer. Stephen is still up there too. Julie has been home for a couple more weeks, I know the boys are happy they don't have to take turns with the cooking. Fencing is in full swing again doing as much as they can before the days get too hot. A new fence is being erected out along the Sandstone road to stop straying cattle... from going further out. There will be a gate on the road into the property but there will still be full access to the Red Bluff road for the public. The shire wouldn't allow them to put a grid there instead. Recently a crew arrived at Narndee to start rebuilding the Historical Camel Camp, but I didn't hear anymore about it, so I don't know if they just threw their hands in the air and left or what! Robert is very busy the fencing, looking after cattle etc. by the time he gets home in the evening he has dinner and off to bed, so it's a bit hard to keep up with the news. There has been quite a few people staying at the station over the last couple of months, mining companies etc up to ten people for dinner at night. As you would have seen by the video Robert posted two weeks ago of the semi trailer load, Sandalwood collecting has been in full swing over winter. Jim went up to Narndee for a short visit and did some maintenance work on the trucks etc, he really enjoyed being up there for awhile but at 84 years of age found it a bit full on. Congratulations to Robert on the arrival of another Grandchild Amelia. Tanya his second daughter and partner Joe are the proud Mum and Dad. Well that's it for today. Keep Well ! See more
18.01.2022 Narndee! Good Morning. Not really a blog just catching up and hoping everyone is ok and has plenty to do. Robert and Julie are both isolating but that's not really different. Easter will be very quiet and there won't be anyone to see the wildflowers this year. So instead just a short note letting everyone know how Cody, Roberts Grandson. Stephen and James Jimmy his nephews who all worked on the station over the last few years.. Cody finished his schooling at the end of last y...ear and was lucky enough to get a mechanics apprenticeship at Dalwallinu and worked on a farm at harvest before he started. Stephen worked on Narndee for awhile helping with fencing , sandle wooding and keeping an eye on the animals. Stephen is now down with James Jimmy at Coorow, Stephen is waiting for the rains to start tractor driving at seeding. James Jimmy is still working at Coorow on a farm, he is a trainee farm manager, and has found his dream life. James has got his all his truck licenses now but prefers not to drive the big rigs. James and Stephen are renovating an old homestead on a small property just out of town. The have chickens and Bindi who has 10 pups. I did try and load pictures but didn't succeed .Keep well everyone. See more

10.01.2022 Narndee News! Good morning everyone. I hope you are all coping with being locked up for awhile. Our border came down on Monday, so we drove straight through to Yanchep without having to show our Doctors appointment, but we still can't go North. Anyway since I last wrote about Narndee there hasn't been any rain to speak of but we are all hoping this coming week good rains will arrive. Things have gone along as usual on the station with two backpackers staying for a lot longer ...than the usually do because of the virus. There wasn't any visitors over Easter and because of the restrictions they aren't to sure about any visitors for awhile plus without the rains there isn't any wildflowers growing. Wild dogs are getting to be a problem close to the homestead with one snatching a baby goat quite close to the shed where Robert was working. He heard the baby scream and jumped on the quad and managed to rescue the little goat. Both Robert and Julie gave chase and managed to dispose of the Dingo. The little goat has survived even with puncture wound to his throat. The surprising thing was the goats weren't let out until lunch time, maybe he was laying in wait. Robert has been able to get through the borders up there into the wheat belt to buy grain for the animals which he mills for them. There is plenty of feed for the cattle because of the good summer rains but there isn't any green, the cattle are looking good though. Robert and Julie both well with Julie staying up at the station for the lock down and is once again enjoying life on Narndee. I will try and load a few pictures on but will have a go, might take all day though. Keep Safe! See more
09.01.2022 Narndee rain update: 100 mls for the year so far. Yesterday there was dry storms lots of thunder and lightning. Some of the storms had damaged mills but are all up and running again. The lakes and dams are full. It will be a bumper year for wildflowers unlike last year. So get your holidays and camping gear organised, Narndee will be open for business at the end of summer.
09.01.2022 Lovely old poem.
06.01.2022 Narndee Rain update. 45 mls. It's looking lovely and green.
05.01.2022 Water around the cattle yards and sheds after a storm during the week. Horses in the background standing in the pools of water.
05.01.2022 Narndee News: Good Morning! just to let you know Narndee has been getting good rains. 20 ml from the cyclone and some very big thunderstorms with lots of heavy rain, will post a couple of pics. One of the very old Pepper trees smashed in the storm.
04.01.2022 Narndee News: Good morning! The last blog for 2019 which have been few and far between this year. Thunderstorms swept through the station two days ago with only 2mls at the homestead, maybe more further out. Plenty of thunder and lightning apparently. Fencing is continuing along the Sandstone Paynes Find road as well as along Erics (neighbour) boundary. The cattle are doing well but most dams are empty except for a couple of the big ones. Julie is doing well and is spending a... lot more time back home now. The last backpacker went to Perth for four days, that was three weeks ago. There has been a few weeks of nice weather on Narndee, so it can't have been the heat. I haven't had a good few months, I went into hospital for a small procedure which didn't work and had to have a feeding tube put in. I have had so many side effects you wouldn't believe! I will only be able to smell Christmas dinner this year. But I am still here, I didn't think I would be. I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year. If you are on the roads over the holidays DRIVE CAREFULLY. That's it for this year folks!! See more
